Happy Wednesday!!! I am back from the fabulous wedding in Beaver Creek, Colorado still floating on what was a stupendous trip. I enjoyed every aspect of the trip….from the drive to my stay in Lindsborg, Kansas and of course the wedding. This was my second time to stay in the yellow house built in 1890 in Lindsborg and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. What a darling house and town! I found the drive through Kansas to be so peaceful with the rolling ,low hills full of crop fields and cows. I love the wide open space and seeing all of the farms. The drive through the mountains was incredible~~ I have not done that since I was a teenager driving with my mother and step-father. I saw the signs for little towns where we stayed on our road trips and saw resorts where I had skied in the past. Mother and I were quite the skiers ~~~ we went every year and owned our own skis. That is the ONLY sport that I am good at!!! I think it because it is like dancing on the snow:) Tutu was the perfect driving companion! She even recognized the yellow house in Lindsborg and ran up to the front door! She was TOTALLY confused when we got to the Ritz and saw Riley, Harrison, and members of her “fan club.” Here we were in a strange, new place full of her “people!” Every aspect and detail of the wedding weekend was wonderful. Such careful and thoughtful planning!!!!!! I even got moved to a room on the first floor that had a sliding door to a little porch and the outside. It was heavenly to let Tutu out in the morning in my robe! It was SO worth driving to see the beautiful scenery and to have my Tutu by my side. I listened to Smokey Robinson’s station with Motown music the whole drive and relaxed singing along to the songs. People asked me if I listened to any podcasts…..and I said no. I just chilled out singing and taking in all of the beauty. I notice all details….just like I do with my work. I loved the red barns, the wind turbines, the mountains , and the waterfalls. I am a collector of beautiful things….it is what makes my heart soar. I was CRAZY busy before I went out of town trying to tie up and loose ends with work. I felt good that all was in order and could just relax on my drive. I only made one business call on my way back on Monday….a sign that I truly did relax. Tutu’s dog sitter was wonderful and Tutu really liked her…she did not cry when I left the room. All in all it was the perfect trip and I got to be with the ones I love!!!!!
I cannot believe that June is almost over. I have been planning for this trip since December and have been preparing my clothes for 2 months. I am VERY thankful that I did not leave town with problems that had to be attended to the minute I got back. So far this week has been smooth.
I hope all of my readers have been enjoying the first month of summer. I have been enjoying the pool and knock on wood the horrible 100 plus degree days have not hit yet. I just turned my sprinkler system on for the first time this year this week!!! We have had so much rain! Happy “ Hump Day!” Have a great rest of your week! Take care,
Kay
