Happy Wednesday ! Between a wedding, my birthday on the 6th, Mother’s Day, and a hurry up commercial job that wants furniture by JULY!!!!!! I have been crazy busy. First my birthday~~~ I had a crazy day at work ( yes I worked!) but a delightful night at home. Riley bought balloons~~ who does not like to be celebrated with balloons!~~ and had them at the top of the stairs, in the dining room , and in the kitchen. She ordered fabulous meat from Goldbelly and had a variety of cheeses and a wonderful champagne chilled and ready. Harrison was in charge of the grilling. It was a festive and delicious dinner! I must admit that 64 hit me hard for some reason…not sure why. I came up with a slogan for the year~~~ 64 and many more!!~~ that I will repeat often.
One of my best friends took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant Paris 7th on the Thursday before my birthday. That place is heaven to me! I had a magical night! The Saturday before my birthday was the wedding. OH MY GOODNESS~~~ I don’t think there were any blue hydrangeas left in the state of Texas after the florist created the STUNNING arrangements that were EVERYWHERE! I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing both the bride and groom well~~ as well as their families~~~ so it was a touching night for me. I love weddings anyway but this one was a little more personal for me. It was a black tie wedding which I always adore and I loved my dress. Having the wedding on the weekend right before my birthday added pleasure to my birthday.
My sweet friend Cammie from the Culp showroom took me to lunch at Bilboquet on the day after my birthday ~~~ another one of my favorite restaurants . French restaurants are always on my top lists! All in all I have had a great birthday week!
Saturday I got up early so I could buy my flowers at Trader Joe’s. It is a MOB scene the day before Mother’s Day. OH MY~~~~ CRAZY!!! My nerves were totally fried by the time I got out of there. They said they had 50 people waiting outside the door for the store to open at 8:00!!!!!
Mother’s Day was lovely even though it rained all day. I got up early so I could walk my Tutu before the rain started ~~~ then “puttered “ about the house all day. Ten thousand steps worth!
I am getting my implant done this Friday~~~ not looking forward to it but in another 3 months I will not be a toothless wonder anymore.
Here is wishing my readers a great rest of your week. Have a super weekend as well!
My dress for the wedding. The dress is from Alice + Olivia ( I like that designer today!!) and the shoes are Manolo Blahnik.
St. Patricks downtown is a gorgeous church empty~~~~ it was even more glorious with all of the flowers!
Such a HAPPY moment!!!!!
The entrance into the cocktail area. WOW!
What an outstanding presentation of family pictures!
Gorgeous table settings.
The food was FABULOUS!!!!!
Every course was divine!
Always a tender moment.
I was in the right place at the right time to capture this moment!
We had Harrison’s dog Winston with us for a little while. Needless to say….they were not about the party hats!
Riley made everything so festive with the balloons!
I was so touched by everything! PARTY! This table in my kitchen has been the hub of the house since 1973.
The steaks from Goldbelly.
Harrison grilled the steaks and corn and Riley recreated the salad I serve on Christmas Day. Delicious !
Since I don’t eat sugar Riley bought a tiny carrot cake muffin for me. This is exactly the way I wanted to spend my birthday~~ with Riley, Harrison, and Tutu!
Lunch with Cami at Bilboquet. SO much fun!
I got myself new monogram towels for my birthday. LOVE them!
The scene at Trader Joe’s Saturday morning at 8:20. They had extra tables set up with flowers. Note to self…..there was more parking available when I left at 8:40.
Harrison grilled for me again on Sunday. This time we had peppered meat patties from Central Market, corn, and ceasar salad. I opened my champagne from South Africa that night. I will get the name of the champagne that Riley bought for my birthday….it was divine!
I am proud to say that my angel wing begonias are blooming! It has been fun watching them come back to life from little nubs.
Tutu rug shopping with me at Abrash~~~~ one of her favorite places!!
