Editor’s note: Today I am wearing a dress from Carven and shoes from Coach.
Happy Friday! I finally got to install the furniture in my Arlington job yesterday. Everything went GREAT!!!! I always worry about the upholstery and wood pieces arriving in perfect condition.... you never know until it is unpacked . We had left everything at the customer’s request in it’s original packaging since it was stored in the living room during construction. With every piece that came out I breathed a sigh of relief. As much as I do meticulous plans when buying furniture ... I am also always happy when I see the plan take fruition and the furniture is placed. The house is not finished by any stretch of the imagination because I have not done accessories or hung art. The accessories are still packed up. I will probably be hanging art as soon as next week. They have beautiful art that I worked around for the colors in the house. I thought it would be fun to show before and after in the rooms that I installed yesterday. So please keep in mind that the rooms are not finished... but I think you can get a great idea of the direction that the room is going.
My Riley came home last night for a wedding this weekend. We are going together to the wedding.....at least walking in together. Miss Riley always outlasts Momma Kay at parties....that is what Ubers are for! Harrison is not attending the wedding because of the LSU/Texas game. He had planned on attending the game until he found out that the nose bleed section tickets were $450!!!!!!! He still might go to see some of his LSU friends and be all a part of the bedlam . It should be quite the game. The Cowboys play the Giants on Sunday....I am so excited for the season to start!!!!!
Enjoy my before and after pictures . I will send the final product when it is finished. So stay tuned ! Have a super weekend!!!!!
Here is the dining room before I started. We kept the chandeliers and the dining room furniture ....just reupholstered the seats of the chairs.
The dining room now. The Quadrille wallpaper has matching fabric. My drapery man was wanting for the wallpaper to be installed so he can match the pattern exactly on the draperies. The chair fabric is from Osborne & Little. I cleaned the chandelier while I was waiting for the installers to come. I was pretty proud of myself for getting out done in time. SO much easier when nothing is under it!!!!
The original kitchen. We changed all of the cabinet fronts and I have ordered pulls Berebi that will be gorgeous when they finally get here( stunning but VERY slow to produce!)
The new backsplash is a custom marble and quartz combination. It makes my heart sing really big!!!!!!
A closer view. The marble counters have pieces of quartz periodically ..... so beautiful.
The breakfast room. We totally used this space in a different way with the remodel. The tile floor was ripped up and new hardwood floors were installed in the kitchen, breakfast , and family room. There used to be carpet in the family room. The room looks so much larger with the new hardwoods.
I had a custom banquette made for the windows and a custom wood base with stone top for the breakfast table. The gorgeous fabric is a hand-block print from Lee Jofa. We had all of the fabrics in the breakfast and family room treated for stain protection.
The family room had the biggest transformation. We ripped out the fireplace and the bookcases and built new bookcases that had less depth ( the old ones were built for the huge TVs of the 80s.) I gained space for more seating pushing that whole wall back.
The new family room the sofas are done in a Colefax & Fowler velvet and the lounge chairs in Lee Jofa patterned chenille. The larger round table used to live in the living room ( that is next on the agenda to re-do) and the smaller round table and cocktail table are from Theodore Alexander. The rug is from Feizy.
Another view showing the custom limestone mantel. The ottoman I had custom made for the husband to have ultimate comfort for tv watching and naps. The fabric is from Threads and it has Samuel & Sons trim around the base.
The former master bedroom. I had the molding removed over the door to the patio so I could have the same valances made going across the whole wall. We moved this queen-size bed to the guest room.
The draperies and custom quilted spread are in a Brunschwig & Fils fabric. The pink chairs were in the former bedroom.....I think they will change now. The wife wanted to try to keep them....they look a little tired with all of the new. The bed is from Old Biscayne. We have not found the shade for the lamp table as of yet.
The former master bath.
The wallpaper that matches the fabric in the master bedroom is on the walls in the updated master bath. I did not get a good picture of the floor with the custom border and white limestone. The same limestone reads up the shower wall. The glass door is supposed to be installed tomorrow and the drapery treatment next week. The chandelier is from Curry & Co.
The powder room before.
The new wallpaper is a beaded paper from Schumacker—-hard to hang but gorgeous!!!! I have so much work left to do. The contractor just informed me that he was not planning on installing the TP holders and towel bars..........so I will get on that next week.
Fried chicken from Roy Popes with left over Brussel sprouts and couscous. I was so happy not to cook last night because I was one tired puppy!!!!
I adore this song!
