Editor’s note: Today I am in a blouse from Vince, skirt from Ann Taylor, and shoes from Charlotte Moss.
Happy Monday! What a wonderful wedding!!!! I had so much fun! The drive down was only a little over 3 hours and was beautiful. I love looking at countryside....so peaceful. We passed through many small towns with town squares....a harken to the past. The ceremony was outside on a lawn..... and the threat of rain passed. It was supposed to be 92 at the time of the wedding but the sun went down and there was a delightful breeze.
I did not plan this... but my dress matched the logo of the wedding. I had several people point it out! The band was fantastic....almost all of the guests were on the dance floor for hours. I danced the night away! The flowers were stunning...food wonderful....and the bride and groom insanely happy. All recipes for a fabulous wedding. Mother enjoyed the getaway and we had fun at dinner on Friday night. I actually relaxed this weekend... which is hard for me to do. The pool was lovely and I got to get some sun for a while listening to the piped in music. I think this girl needed some R&R——it was all good.
Lacie Rue was so excited to see us when we returned. I took her for a ride in the car and all was forgiven for leaving her behind . Mackenzie kept the home fires burning at work. We have a busy week ahead of us!
TCU won big.... but let’s not talk about the Cowboy loss......... I had to stop watching. They were beaten on every level in my opinion. Maybe it was the reality check they needed. Better kick it into high gear if they want a Super Bowl run!!!!!!!
I am covering the wedding today instead of my usual Instagram posts. It was just too beautiful not to share. Happy Monday!!! Make it a wonderful day!!!!
Our welcome package. I thought their wedding logo was so clever—- it encompassed many parts of their lives together so far.
The view from our room. Gorgeous! We stayed at the Horseshoe Bay Resort.
We had to ride a tram to dinner....not the usual thing for this mother and daughter since it was hot and our hair was blowing around!!!! The resort property was huge!!!
The blackened salmon I had for dinner Friday night. Beautiful presentation....and it was delicious!
The view from the restaurant was wonderful overlooking the water.
This key lime pie dessert cracked me up... the meringue was so tall it looked like Marie Antoinette’s hair style!!!
My sweet mother looking lovely reading in the shade.
My dress that matched the wedding!
The flowers were AMAZING!!!!! These were on pedestals as you entered the seating for the ceremony .
The bride and groom at the flower alter . The wind rustling in the palm trees was magical.
Entrance to the reception.
The table with the books to sign. I adored the profusion of pink!!!
They had many vignettes of tables and banquettes with ghost chairs.
Seating in the center of the reception. Melanie Tatum as usual did an outstanding job!! The flowers draping down from the ceiling were so romantic.
The bride’s table.
Bride’s cake with real flowers adorning.
Great groom’s cake with the golf theme.
The tenderloin and asparagus (I skipped all of the other side dishes) was delicious.
My friend and client Janet who we ate dinner with on Friday and I sat with them at the wedding. Their daughter Mary Ellen who lives in New York is 31 now....this couple have been my clients since she was 3. Of course I had to put the party favors to use!
With my friends Janet and Michael. I am doing another house for them right now. (There were a lot of jokes about my expensive taste at dinner!)
Janet, Mary Ellen (who was in the wedding), and the bride’s brother Sonny. Yes I am really that tall............
Janet and I were into the dancing!!!!!! My friend Stacie is on the left. Her daughter is one of Riley’s best friends in New York. They went to Country Day School and TCU together.
We were too tired from the drive to go to church and dinner. So I cooked orange roughy with green beans at home.
