Editor’s note: Today my outfit is a blouse from Alice & Olivia, skirt from Rag & Bone, and shoes from Valentino.
Happy Monday! It said in the paper that today is the first day of autumn...someone forgot to tell Mother Nature ....... we are expected to be in the 90’s all week. I know somewhere in the United States the weather is cooler and the leaves may be changing. We do have the trade off down here in Texas.... we have to live with the heat instead of shoveling snow. I will stick by my conviction that I would rather sweat than wear ugly shoes in the winter. Football was not the best this weekend..... TCU lost to SMU and the Cowboys won but looked sloppy in the first half. LSU did great....I am hoping for a big year for the TIgers!!! The Cowboys came back after halftime swinging. I would imagine there were some choice words of inspiration going on in the locker room during halftime!!!!! Mother and I saw Downton Abby on Saturday night.....oh it was FABULOUS!!!! We want to go again before it leaves the theaters. It did well in the box office—-31 million—-which thrills me that a movie without bad language, nudity, and violence can do well in the box office. I got some Christmas shopping done on Saturday and took my dress to the tailors to get hemmed for the Lake Tahoe wedding that mother and I are attending in November. This gorgeous dress that is 10 years old ( and did not first me for many years but now fits like a glove!) goes to show that you should never discard good clothes that are classic. The silk chiffon flows when I walk..and the rust color is absolute perfection for a November wedding. I still had the receipt stapled to the plastic bag from Neiman’s ....could not believe I have had it that long. It had a train...which I can never figure out why designers do that because people just step on you!.... so I am having the train cut off. People did step on and slightly rip the chiffon. I treated myself to a FABULOUS pair of evening shoes to go with it ( which I justified because I was not buying a new dress.) All in all it was a great weekend. Here are my Instagram posts that caught my eye last week. Enjoy and have a wonderful Monday... the day full of possibilities!
Fabulous blue and white entry with a custom console made with leftover wood from the floor.
Incredible words of wisdom. My mother always told me ...and I have taught my children...that is is always a good plan to be nice.
Unbelievable photo!!!!!!!!! This is digital art———so cool!
The movement in this hallway is stunning. From the floor...to the doors... to the windows... to the ceiling.
Another great one from our beloved Dr. Seuss who always had meaningful thing to say.
Now THIS is a china storage closet. WOW!!!!!
This is fascinating to me.... this is in the Parc des Butte Chaumont that opened in April 1867. It was part of Napoleon 111’s plan to renovate Paris by building parks and gardens outside of central Paris.
It is the site of a former limestone quarry.
A little girl with her doll celebrating her birthday. Life just does not get better than this!!!
My favorite Tuileries Garden in Paris. Everything about it is gorgeous. How I adore Paris.....
Bring on fall!!!!!
This scene reminded me of my movie review of Pretty Woman years ago. My best friend Beast still quotes it today........my take on the movie was that there were beautifully dressed people having drinks in elegant bars. This moment on this boat with what looks to be an Hermes scarf tying her hair back is pure elegance.
There is a certain mood that Paris brings on....why I love it so much.
Love, love the fabric walls and how an antique piece is used for storage in this kitchen.
Dinner last night at Pacific Table. This shaved brussel sprout salad is my favorite!!!
I love this song!
