Editor’s note: Today I am wearing a dress from Theory with shoes from Coach!
Happy Friday! Well the week finally smoothed out———thank God. The beginning of the week truly put my patience to a test!! But the weekend is upon us now and I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation. No big plans for the weekend... which is kind of nice. I will be looking at profile pages on my new job of Match.com.... which is time consuming but very important to the nice people who have reached out to me. I am complimented that so many have responded since Monday! I am meeting with a new client on Monday who has been following my work. That is always the best compliment of all to have someone love my work and want me to do magic for them. He sent me images of rooms that he likes....which is SO helpful to know the right direction from the start. He wants a more rustic, contemporary look that of course I can achieve. As I have always said.... my job is to make my clients dreams come true with my good taste infused in the selections. I am getting close to installing three jobs over the next month....one was held up due to a vendor problem with the fabrics. There will be major flowers involved on that install day and some champagne!!!! I hate it when bad things happen along the process of a job..... but there is a lot that is out of my control. The tile is halfway installed on my Arlington job and looking OH SO FABULOUS!!!!! The custom tile in the master and the laundry room is perfection.... and I cannot wait to see the onyx and marble mosaic installed in the kitchen. Just looking at the strike off sample makes my heart sing! Up next will be the wallpaper starting next Thursday....I cannot wait!!!!
Today’s article comes from the summer issue of Galerie magazine. I loved the pictures in the article ( which is how I always choose what I cover in my blog)—- but when I started reading I was thrilled to find out that this home is in La Quinta near Palm Springs. This is where the home is located that I did in 2016! This incredible home is on two and a half acres bordering the golf course at the Paradise Club. The couple chose architect Steve Giannetti who had designed a home previously for the couple in LA. The home is 20,000 square feet and is a series of pavilions linked by glass terraces. Anna Busta designed the interiors. The home is mostly muted colors with some surprises like the red table and chairs in the dining room. Enjoy the stunning piece and tranquility created in the desert with a view of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Have a fabulous weekend!!!
I love the time of day that this picture was photographed with all of the shadows. The large sculpture is from Bernar Venet. You can see how many rooms have the incredible view from the back of the house. So beautiful !
I have Ben to La Quinta during high season and in the summer heat. I can assure you that this impressive bed of red geraniums happened during high season! The sculptuer in the reflecting pool is by Norman Mooney.
This floating staircase is breathtaking!!!!!!!!!! The blue concave mirror is by Anish Kapoor....the painting by Willem de Kooning... and the sculpture on the table by Atelier Viollet. The art explodes in this otherwise serene setting.
The main living and dining areas have a retractable door that opens up the entire area . How gorgeous!!!! The red table and chairs is by Christian Liaigre.... which was shocking to the couple at first but now they love it. The upholstery is by Holly Hunt. The light fixture by Alison Berger is a piece of art in itself floating above the table.
The outdoor dining features teak furniture and lanterns designed by Busta. Olive trees shade the area. Glorious!
Calm and serene master bedroom has a daybed by Christian Liaigre, Holly Hunt tables, and chairs by Michel Frank. All heavy hitters in the world of contemporary furnishings.
The combination of the oak and white Bulthaup cabinets is clean and lovely.
This small seating area in on the second floor. The cool light fixture is by Bocci paired with artwork by Joseph Villeneuve. I love the shape of the table!
The Johanna Grawunder light in the entrance gallery is tipped ( I think this would make me dizzy... but what do I know!) The rug is by Daniel Buren... the art on the left by Richard Serra... the art on the right by Fred Sandback.... and the mirrored chair is by Julian Mayor. This has all of the trappings of an art gallery!
The Christian Liaigre sofas in the family room are one of the designs that my client was choosing between in the contemporary job that I finished last year. The bar is amazing!!!!!! Atelier Viollet was commissioned to create this marquetry masterpiece. The light fixture by Christopher Boots is like a halo over the seating area.
Not every house has a bowling ally!!!!! Especially one with changing lights!!!! The dome light by Ingo Maurer is so dramatic over the pool table. This game room would delight anyone who stepped foot in it!
What an incredible house in every way!

Dinner last night was fried chicken from Roy Pope and Texas caviar from Central Market.
This song is one of my favorites! It never gets old!
