Happy Friday! Easter weekend is upon us and my sweet Riley is trying to get home. There is turbulent weather all over the east Coast and her flight keeps getting delayed. It is so glorious here... blue skies with powder puff clouds. I wish she was here already enjoying it with us in my office! The weather was so crazy here on Wednesday.... the forecast had everyone so freaked out about baseball size hail and 60 mile and hour winds that showrooms closed early, schools, churches, and flights cancelled. I guess better safe than sorry but it sure caused a lot havoc! I had a huge presentation in Dallas that went swimmingly well and we were on our way back with all of the crazy divers before the huge storm was supposed to hit at 5:30. The sun was out......... but we were safe! My new client in Dallas loved all that I presented her... which is all so rewarding. Now we have to get the husband’s blessing and we are on our way! In 3-4 months her new home should be in fabulous and beautiful shape. Have I mentioned lately that I love my job???!!! Thankfully there is plenty that I can source on websites since the Design District is closed for Good Friday. I tried to get all of the quotes I could before the showrooms closed yesterday.
The article today is from the April issue of House Beautiful. Designer Anne Hepfer’s home in Toronto is “surrounded by color.” She has two sets of twins....God love her!!!... that are nine and thirteen . As a mother of one set of twins... I cannot imagine having two sets!!! She has a “go-big decorating attitude” and has been obsessed with color since she was a little girl. The 1933 Georgian house is a “prismatic wonderland” now. Enjoy this happy home and I wish all of my reader’s the best Easter weekend ever! I will be surrounded by my twins, nieces, boy and girlfriends , and my sweet mother. Life is good!
What an explosion of color!!! I love it being a color person myself. The chairs upholstered in the fun Pierre Frey geometric were her grandmother’s chairs. Hypnotic discs from Ulrich Panzer add extra pow to the room. The mirrored obelisk is vintage.
Black, white, touches of gold , and a punch of pink rule in her office.
Fabulous moment created in the entry with the custom python console and the sassy Mongolian-lamb stool from West Elm. The mirror over the console is antique venetian. I love the mixture of the old with the new... so fresh!
I larger view of the dining room. Antique chairs are slipcovered and look marvelous with the tablecloth done in a Tony Duquette fabric. I adore the fact that they have family dinners here—- something I did in my dining room every night!—- and discuss everyone’s day. It is a very “Leave it to Beaver “thing to do that a lot of people do not do any more. Family dinner is when I found out everything from my twins. I would not have traded for it!!!
Her children are into color as well and had a say so in their rooms. This Cris’s Cross wallpaper from Quadrille is the perfect backdrop for the stunning art by Susan Hoenbeak-Ortiz. The pink sofa with the great trim keeps the attitude going.
