Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a top from Banana Republic, skirt from H&M, and shoes from Jimmy Choo.
Happy Thursday! Boy did we have a busy Dallas day yesterday! It was one where I timed every showroom that we went to in order to keep on track. We selected rugs, worked on fabrics, worked on custom carpets, and pulled accessories from 2 antique stores for a bookcase installation. It was a wild and wooly day but we got it all done. Today I am pulling a bit more accessories ,having a vendor meeting to see the new fabrics in some lines, and going on a rug delivery that we choose yesterday. No rest for the busy!!!Since I never repeat fabrics ( unless they are a solid) I am always looking for what is new in the fabric houses that I gravitate towards. I always want my work to be fresh. We are installing the bookcases in the morning.... and it is supposed to be raining... so I will get all loaded up today since it does not look like the rain is coming. We need the rain so badly... I am hoping we get a little!
One of my sweet clients gave me a book on Kenneth Turner’s Flower Style last week. Since I do my own floral arrangements I am constantly analyzing professionals who do floral design. It fascinates me and I tuck away the ones that I love and think I can design on my own. I try to vary what I do for my Design Inspirations table every year to go along with my table skirt theme. I want the ladies who sit at my table to feel like they are at a wonderful dinner party when they are seated. Here are some of the pictures in Kenneth Turner’s book that I thought were gorgeous... as well as the settings. Enjoy and have a beautiful day!
Such an incredible garden. I love the statue on the pedestal peaking out of the flowers.
I love this whole moment. Blue & White platters on the wall have always been one of my favorites. The old flour box used for elevation is so cool. The coxcomb dried arrangements are fabulous.
Gorgeous solarium room that truly makes you feel like you are outside.
First of all the pine walls and mantel are beyond breathtaking. The carving is amazing! The two floral arrangements on either side of the mantel and art are subtle and add just another beautiful layers.
The floral arrangement adds a touch of class to this room full of gorgeous antiques.
Oh WOW!!!!!!!!! Now that is a plethora of dried flowers!!!
Incredible library! The bookcases themselves are stunning.... then there is even more above! The floral arrangements seem to be on standing fixtures. Gorgeous.
This room and table setting truly takes my breath away!!!!!! The gilded molding going around the room gives the appearance of a jewel box. The abundance of roses and greenery is out of this world stunning!
I have done a grouping almost identical to this at a client’s house... using containers that you would not expect for flowers.
Yes please to this dinner party! Of course the dramatic floral arrangements are beautiful..... but using the fruit also to decorate the tables is so unique.
For dinner last night we had grilled chicken from Central Market and texas caviar- yum!!
