Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a top from Joie, skirt from Anthropologie, and shoes from Ann Taylor.
Happy Friday! In some ways it feels like weeks ago that I was on the plane to New York a week ago... in others this week has flown by in a flash!!! I will definitely say that we did not let any grass grow under our feet this week! After our crazy day yesterday I certainly slept well last night. This afternoon we are meeting with a new client. I adore new jobs to keep life interesting. I usually run many jobs at once so I am used to multi-tasking. We are starting out with bookshelves on this job— which is something I love to do. Because I have a photographic memory I can see scale and how the pieces I am selecting will be placed in the bookcase. It is truly a gift that I am thankful for! My work table in my fabric room has many piles that I think have had babies .... so this afternoon we will be trying to clean it off to be able to lay out the fabrics , carpets , and tiles for my presentation on Tuesday. Since I am a pack rat (a gift that I wish I did not have!!!!) it is hard for me to throw away things that vendors have sent me. I need to be discerning in throwing away what I truly don’t need today!!! I am looking forward to a calm weekend just getting errands run and going to see Christopher Robin at the movies. I absolutely adored Winnie the Poo growing up... this movie did not get great reviews but I bet I will love it!!!
The article today I found in the newest issue of Luxe magazine. Builder Brent hull restored a home in Park Hill gutting the inside to match the exterior with extreme attention to detail as he is known for. Designer Tiffany Mackenzie did a beautiful job of taking color inspiration from the rug that the husband had collected all over the world during his 24 years as an officer in the Marines. The result is stunning and fresh. Enjoy on this fine summer day in August and have a super weekend!! We have 4 more summer weekends ahead—- gotta make hay while the sun is shining!!!!
Beautiful backyard trellis baobab the patio. I love the green door!
Great collection of maps. I have had many clients over the years want me to find collections of antique maps for them. Beaux Art in Dallas is always my go to source.
The Kashan rug in the living room created the backdrop and drove the fabrics. The custom sofa done in a Schumacker velvet is the perfect pairing. The antique Louis XV-style Bleu Fleuri mantel and mirror were found on 1stdibs by the husband who played an active role in the design of the house.
Stunning kitchen!!!!! The P.E.Guerin hardware glistens in this custom kitchen. The backslash is from Ann Sacks tile and the pendants are from Visual Comfort.
The dining room table is from Henredon and came from the couple’s previous home. The large piece of art was commissioned from local artist J.T.Grant. Outstanding!!!
Beautiful shades of blue fill the family room. I love the drapery fabric from Schumacker and the Kravet rug. The fireplace screen was found at Blueprint—-I love that store!!!!—- and was done by Claire Crown.
Such an elegant limestone LXVI mantel found on 1stdibs. The Asian figures and glass sculptures from Rick Beck add personality to the room. I love to incorporate accessories that clients have collected and have special meaning.
The original Tudor-inspired exterior was restored. How wonderful. Hull does amazing work.
Ann Sacks marble floors and backsplash tile are from Ann Sacks. I looked at this exact5 tile yesterday for a current job!!! So gorgeous. The lavender drapery fabric from Schumacker looks glorious in the room. The custom cabinets are beautiful.
The Schumacher print carries into the master bedroom. Beautiful upholstered headboard with wood trim from ER Woodworks—-also done in a Schumacker fabric. The soft wall covering from Innovations creates a soothing backdrop. What a fabulous house!! I love getting to cover a house in my Fort Worth today !!!!!!
