Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a shirt from Rebecca Taylor, shorts form Banana Republic and shoes from Manolo Blahnik.
Happy Friday! Well today seems like Tuesday since yesterday seemed like Monday . I actually panicked on the way to work yesterday that I had missed my doctor’s appointment—- that is scheduled for next Monday. I was so relieved that is was just Thursday! Today I am presenting the new breakfast room to my client who is remodeling her kitchen. Then after lunch with my mother— which is an every Friday event!— I am off to deliver another round of upholstery to my client who moved from Denton. I am so excited to see everything in place. One of the most fun parts of my job!! We are supposed to get rain tonight and cool things down a bit for tomorrow. My walk will be so much more delightful when the temperature is in the 80s!!
The house today comes from a special section of Architectural Digest that covered celebrity homes. This home of Mike D of The Beastie boys on the Pacific Ocean is open, airy , and full of Whimsey. A perfect home to feel the joy of summer. Enjoy and have a wonderful “second” wave of days off this week.
This house was built to be a summer home but then became a full time residence. Who wouldn’t like to feel like they are on vacation 365 days a year!!! I love the mid-century vibe.
Oh wow I love this built in sofa that goes all the way to the window—- that would be my spot for sure!!!!! The artwork above the sofa is by John Baldessari. The modular seating by Mario Bellini is for B&B Italia. I love the blue, opaque , and clear globes above the shark painting by Michael Muller. The skylight brings in such wonderful light.
More of these fabulous pendants by Bocci over the dining table . The artwork by Keltie Ferris has incredible colors.
The more traditional wallpaper placed above the more modern peacock blue cabinet is great! Perfect area for some of his sound equipment.
The tile on the bathroom floor that reads up the tub is incredible!!!! The open window above the tub would be a dream for me. Oh how I love baths!!!!!! Great placement of the tub faucet in the middle.
This master bedroom with all of the windows feels like the outside is coming in. The simplicity of the room is so peaceful.
Oh wow—- the barn doors opening up this music room are fantastic!!!!!!!
Wonderful and private area for the pool. I could definitely relax at this property —- 365 a year!!
Last night for dinner we had turkey burgers served with beef steak tomato, monterey jack cheese and fresh basil- yum!!
I can't get enough of this song!
