Editor's note: Today I am wearing a dress from Anthropologie and shoes from Valentino.
Happy Tuesday!! This is a weird week with a holiday right smack in the middle!!! A four day work week makes things get squeezed in— but we are making it happen!! I keep hearing mixed signals about the weather for tomorrow— some say storms but my phone says partly cloudy. I am going to be an optimist and go for partly cloudy! Mother, Harrison, Riley , and I are going up to the pool during the day. I am not sure about fireworks if Riley wants to go with me or with friends. Our country club Rivercrest has fireworks viewing from an upstairs balcony. I much prefer it to watching in a parking lot... because there is a bartender and there are bathrooms. My kind of style!!! All in all it should be a relaxing day with family. I adore time with my twins! The week of 4th of July is hard to get things done in my industry— factories close down for the week as do showrooms closing early. Thank God for the internet that we can keep working on projects!
The article today comes from summer issue of Galerie. This home in La Jolla was built by Frank Loyd Wright’s protege Frederick Leibhardt in 1958. It has a spectacular view of Windansea Beach. The home owners Liz Anne and Phokion Potamianos moved from New York from their apartment that had once been the loft and gallery of art dealer Ileana Sonnabend. Phokion’s father had been adopted by Sonnabend— so you can imagine the love of art and appreciation of Phokion. This home is a piece of art from the architecture to what is inside. Enjoy and have a fabulous July 4th. Happy Birthday America!!!!!!!
Designer Eddie Lee does an amazing job with this home. The sculpture from Jeff Koons is front and center in the fabulous view of the ocean. The wall cabinet is vintage Jean Prouve. The cool chairs in the window are by Fritz Hansen. What a room!!!
This incredible fireplace is all travertine. It showcases a Greek bronze helmet from 5th century B.C. That is amazing!!! The ceiling was replaced with vertical-grain hemlock. There was no detail left undone.
The wife’s favorite color is purple. This spectacular 11-panel fireplace surround is coated with high-gloss lacquer. WOW! I love the shape of the chair done in the Holly Hunt fabric. This room should certainly make the wife happy!!!
The photograph by Lawrence Beck makes the wall fell like there is a window overlooking an incredible lake!!! The table is vintage Milo Baughman and chairs by Jorge Zalszupin. The oak floors have inlaid travertine— and were installed by Mark Hampton when he did this home in the 90s. Most of Mark Hampton’s “ Park Avenue exuberance” was stripped away by Eddie Lee in order to give the home a “Beach vibe.”
The sunken bar is topped with travertine and leather . I am sure that is stunning in person!!!!! The photograph is by Candida Hofer.
This kitchen is funky and fun—— but the star of the show is the piece by Roy Lichtenstein. Wow oh Wow!!!!!
What an amazing place for outdoor dining. Yes please and thank you!!!!!
This pool is so architecturally gorgeous. All of the different levels! It says in the article that Phokion traded commuting to New York on airplanes for 365-day surfing and paddleboarding. I would say by the number of surf boards leaning against the wall that he is living the dream!

For dinner last night I had a Cobb salad with leftover smoked chicken, avocado, Swiss cheese, and cherry tomatoes. Yum!
