Editor's note: Today I am wearing a top from Banana Republic, skirt from Ann Taylor, and shoes from Frances Valentine.
Happy Thursday! Thank goodness we have a busy day in the office because this dust from Africa in the air and the heat are something else!!!! We were able to find a bit of shade everywhere we went yesterday in Dallas so it was not too bad. We had horrible excitement before we got to work today.... the bank across Merrick from us was robbed and three ladies were shot. Praise the Lord the gun shots were not fatal. There were police, news crews, and helicopters hovering when we got to work. Quite a scene!!!!! And then there were the bystanders parked sideways in the parking lot watching the whole thing. People.... really................
Today we are busy putting several aspects of one job put to bed so we can get things ordered and underway....and I am working on my new job with my clients I reconnected with from my days at The Market. Yesterday we pulled a lot of fabrics for my new job and we thought it would be fun to do the blog on different fabric scenarios that I am planning. I always like to give many options when first presenting to a client... not all fabrics will make the cut but you have to start somewhere and build on what they fall in love with. This client wants all rooms to flow with similar coloration, which works well for the house the way it is laid out. They adore their artwork... so my color palette started there. I absolutely love the world of fabrics... one of my favorite parts of my job. So enjoy round one of what I am presenting soon and have a wonderful (so sorry it is so hot!!!) day.
Here is some of the art that we are pulling the color palette from.
Two of the pieces in the living room. We are planning new fabrics for the living, dining, breakfast room, family room, master, 4 guest rooms , and an upstairs sitting room. When i start a project I like to give many different groupings to start with. But I wait until after the first presentation to really dig deep. I did not include all that I pulled yesterday... and I am by no means finished!!!! This is just the start.
All of the scenarios incorporate pink and turquoise. We will not be using new wall paper in every bath... but I do like to incorporate it where I can on my initial presentation as you can see in the upcoming groupings. This one has a little soft lavender in the fabrics.
More pink with a little turquoise .
A little stronger pink.
More emphasis on the turquoise
This is one of Mackenzie’s favorites! Love that pink!!
Beautiful lead print from Schumacher.
Perfect for a bedroom.
I think Lacie Rue has selected her favorite grouping!!!! She is such a helper dog!!! Check out her “grinch feet.” She has her bath yesterday—- she is very fluffy and feeling pretty today! I love all of the floor space in my studio were I can lay things out. And I truly adore having my “shadow” by my side at work. It’s a wonderful life!
Anyone who has ever experienced having a three year old would totally understand this quote.
For dinner last night I had crab cake from Central Market and tomato avoacod salad ontop of spinach.
This is such a fell good song! What an amazing voice.
