Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a top from Joie, shorts from Ann Taylor, and shoes from Tory Burch.
Happy Thursday! I had a great day bombing around the Design District with my client yesterday. We made every appointment on time and accomplished everything we set out to do and even a few more showrooms. That does not always happen! I guess the stars were aligned. I brought lunch... complete with cloth napkins and silverware ( because that is the way I roll!) and we ate our lunch at a table in Ann Sacks tile showroom at a table under a skylight before we looked at tile. I could not have asked for a better setting. We made some final decisions which always feels good to be able to check things off the list and move forward! Today I am doing something that is long overdue and not fun.... having a skin cancer removed from my neck. Tomorrow I am having it sewn up by a plastic surgeon who was a client of mine in the 1990s. He specializes in faces and hands... so I know he will do a fabulous job. I will be new and improved by 3:00 tomorrow!!! I am SO looking forward to this being behind me!! I am supposed to go to a client’s party on Saturday . I may be rocking a scarf on my neck.... but hoping I can make the scene!
The article today comes from the July/August issue of Elle Decor. Forgive me that I am not familiar with the jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth—- but certainly many celebrities are! She designs one of a kind pieces that she has people all over the world create the elements that go into the jewelry. She says a lot of her inspiration comes from her mother and her mother’s art. The same can be be said for how she designs her decor of her Venice canal home in LA. She will search the world for the perfect piece... the same way she does for her pieces that go into her jewelry. I love the statement...” I think everything I do—my house, my studio, my store, my car, my bedroom— always feels like ’Meet the Jewelry.’” Enjoy the home of this fabulous designer and have a super day!
The oh so fun custom sectional in the living room is covered in a Schumacker floral. The cocktail table is from Yves Klein— so fine! The large painting was done by her mother Geraldine Neuwirth.
Neuwirth in her dressing room wearing her jewelry and a wonderful jumpsuit from Johanna Ortiz. I love all of her baskets above and below the clothes. I am afraid those areas would be filled with my shoe boxes!!!!!
An example of her one of a kind pieces of jewelry.
Can you even imagine this being outside your home and in Los Angeles!!!
A view of the living room opening into the kitchen. She loves to entertain and always has a great mix of people at her dinner parties ... “vintage fashion dealers rubbing elbows with rock scientist and comedians.” I can only imagine how interesting and fun her parties are!
What a delightful window and view to look out over the sink. The brass hardware is lovely.
Gorgeous wallpaper in the water closet! The turquoise background coming off of the pink walls is wonderful.
Beautiful fabric headboard and bed frame. This room is so simple and uncluttered. I love the piece of art that I would imagine her mother painted.
A close up of her mother’s art. This makes my heart sing BIG!!!!
Wonderful mobile made with Venetian glass pieces.
Another incredible place to entertain al fresco. Once again she incorporates great pieces to arrange flowers in. What a unique and talented lady.
