Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a dress from Anthropologie and shoes from Nine West.
Happy Friday! Rabbit Rabbit!! It is the first day of June—- one of my favorite months of the year. Things are still green and life slows down a bit. My twins turn 25 this month —- I cannot believe it! I was VERY large and not so much in charge 25 years ago at this time. I was still bedridden the first week of June... I was released from bondage at week 36. They ended up inducing me at week 38. I can remember going to Sam's and walking (at a very slow pace mind you) to get some exercise in the air conditioning. Someone came up to me and asked me if I should be out in my condition. The person looked mortified when I told them that I was trying top get these babies to come!!!! Baby “B” — who was Riley— had cracked a rib kicking and I was not very comfortable to say the least!! I would not trade anything for my twins so all of the pain was worth it!! I have been designing houses for 28 years now.. my oh my I cannot believe that I started Kay Genua Designs when Riley & Harrison were in second grade.
With my new issue of Architectural Digest this month I received an supplement magazine that included celebrity homes . The one I am going to cover today is on Anderson Cooper’s home in Brazil. I thought this was a perfect home to cover on the first day of June. Enjoy this wonderful “Casa Anderson” and have a fabulous Friday!!!
Cooper Anderson relaxing by the pool with his partner Benjamin Maisani and the neighbor’s dogs. The dogs look quite happy and content to be getting so much loving!! I love all of the natural wood on the deck, beams, and bar. A tropical paradise.
This living room is so easy, breezy, and just says come and relax. The all white and cream tones have pops of color in the pillows, the front of the bar, and the desk chair. The bougainvillea plant on the cocktail table is glorious! The pequi-wood stools are so cool!!
Reclaimed peroba planks encompass the master bedroom. I love the four-poster bed with the mosquito netting... so romantic . The old trunks at the foot of the bed add a rustic nostalgia to the room. It feel like “Out of Africa” to me.
This turquoise wall in the dining room with the collection of Brazilian devotional oratorios is fantastic!!!! The antique confessional chair is the perfect accessory against this cool wall.
What a great moment on this veranda. The wood framed sofa piled with pillows is so inviting to sit and enjoy the breeze...... and that pendant!!!! Just like a piece of art!
There is a lot to love about this kitchen. First... the front of the cabinets with it’s ombré blue to green is fabulous. The complete collection of pots and pans that match give a very uncluttered look even though they are totally exposed. The flag framed above the door is a Ghanaian asafo flag— so perfect . What a happy room to start the day in this vacation home. Just so fine!!!!
