Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a dress from Anthropologie and my shoes are from Vince Camuto.
Happy Friday!! Sometimes I get anxious on Fridays because of things that I did not get accomplished during the week...... but this Friday I am saying TGIF!!!!!! This was the first week for my new intern Adison to work with us— and boy did we get a lot done. I think I am going to be spoiled having two assistants. Let’s see how I do when the end of August comes and Adison goes back to Auburn where she will be a junior. She has jumped right in and picked up things so quickly!!!! Lacie Rue has yet to convince her to share her lunch..... but if you saw Lacie Rue in person you would realize that she doesn’t miss many meals................ My Riley comes home from NYC tonight in time for dinner and Harrison is going to make a rare appearance for dinner. Poor guy... first year accountants do not get fabulous hours. It will be a happy night for Momma Kay!!!!! I put fresh flowers in the house yesterday for Riley’s arrival. It is always such a treat to have her home and I always strive to make things perfect.
The article today I found in Elle Decor. This property in Sonoma Valley was inspired by Northern California Victorian resorts and boasts nine bedrooms. What an incredible place to bring family and friends!!! The 4 story lake house is full of color and comfort. Enjoy this storybook weekend retreat and have a fabulous weekend!
The grand salon makes an immediate impact with the gorgeous Schumacker floral wallpaper. WOW!!! Designer Ken Fulk and architect Edward Wormley do a wonderful job with this amazing room. It feels like a grand hotel. The dining table was found at the Brimfield Antique Show.... which is on my bucket list to go. I have been told that I would be in heaven! The bar stools from Casamidy are so cool with their Dedar fabric and leather backs. I can only imagine how bustling this rooms would be with a large gathering .
Even the boat house on this property is incredible. And that boat!!!! Wow!!
When I think of Live Oak trees I always think of the Deep South . This four story home
Surrounded by Live Oak trees could easily be a plantation down South.
What a cool library!!! The Harvey Probber swivel chairs came from Antiques du Monde. What attitude they have in their sassy orange velvet!! The color is drawn to the window in the roman shade fabric. The circa-1910 Italian chandelier has such a commanding presence in the room. I love the art mixed in the bookcases.
This room serves as the entry and functions like a hotel lobby. The stunning blue paint color is from Farrow & ball and is called Chinese Blue. Note the incredible ceiling! The rug and the brass cocktail table were found at Brimfield. The cow head is quite the conversation piece in between the Cowtan & Tout striped draperies.
The kitchen is located at the back of the house—- and is a true hard working kitchen ready to produce food for large gatherings. The La Cornue range of course is like a piece of jewelry in the room. The marble counters are salvaged from Exquisite surfaces. The Urban Electric pendants and sconces have great attitude.
The mural in this master was hand painted by Rafael Arana—— so stunning!!!! The bedding is from Matouk — always gorgeous. How sassy is that vintage sofa at the foot of the bed done in the cowhide!!!!!! I love the print on the drapery fabric—- and adore the roofline in the room. So romantic.
Great twin bedroom for the son. Once again I love the roofline—- and how the beds seem to be tucked in. Super leather pommel horses used as benches at the foot of the beds.
All of the bathrooms in the house are different and are filled with any amenity you can think of to pamper the guests. Here in the master there is a rain shower head from Waterworks and fantastic tile from ASN Natural stone. The soaking tub is calling my name.......

Love this little quote!
This is so true!
For dinner last night we had seasoned chicken with herb de provence and grilled zucchini. Delicious!
