Editor's note: Today I am in a dress from JCrew and shoes from Coach.
Happy Wednesday !! It seems like yesterday was Sunday... where does the time go??? Today is Dallas Day— and will be the first one of the year where I will be hunting for shade. It will be my new intern’s first Dallas experience. I know she will gain so much. I zoom when I go to Dallas because I always have more to do than the time allows. We will be doing some antique shopping today... which requires going out of the Design District. Three girls on the move.. should be fun!!!!! I have so many contacts and friends in the showrooms.... it will be a delight to introduce Adison to my large group of friends!
The article I am featuring today comes from the new issue of Veranda. This development in Windsor , Florida was designed by Hilary and W. Galen Weston in 1989. It is the cultural dimension of the member-only club that sets it apart. The Weston’s work with the Royal Academy of Arts to bring incredible exhibits to the property—- namely Alex Katz, Jasper Johns ( who I wrote my senior paper on at Tulane in my art appreciation class), Ed Ruscha — among others. The co-founders of New Urbanism Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk were hired to design the walk-able community. The “Southern, Anglo Caribbean-style village” is designed around public squares the encourage walking from one spot to another. The place sounds divine!!! And is gorgeous on top of it. Designer Alessandra Branch was hired to refresh The Village Suites. Enjoy this magical place and have a fabulous “hump day!”
Stunning courtyard of The Village Suites which is a boutique hotel for guests and prospective residents. The Perennials fabric is lovely on what looks to be Janus et Cie iron furniture, i live how the grand lantern is anchored by the elegant chains to keep it steady during storms.
This is named “The Goodwood Suite.” The gorgeous Audubon bird print sets the tone and coloration do the living area. Some of my favorite fabric houses are represented in the room.... Brunschwig & Fils, Kravet, and Schumacker. In my opinion a room turns out best when you blend fabrics from different resources together . This room is so fresh and Floridian.
The backsplash is from Casa Branca—— so pretty! The bar stools from Palecek are lovely done in a white Kravet fabric with Samuel & Sons trim on the seat. I would love to start my day in this happy room!!!!
This is the “Doncaster Suite.” Done in beautiful creams and whites it has a whole different vibe from the Goodwood Suite. I did four houses at The Escondido Golf resort in the Hill Country years ago. All four of the houses had different color schemes . I love that great minds think alike!!!!!! This room is stunning!
The cool pendants in the kitchen area are vintage and perfect in this setting.
This is the “Aintree Suite” and we are now into pale pinks. I ADORE this dining area featuring a lantern from Coleen & Company. Please note that the dining table and chairs don’t match. I have such a hard time sometimes in my work trying to explain to clients that it is more interesting for things not to match all of the time. It looks more collected. The draperies and the cushions are a Casa Branca fabric. I think if I was to pick a suite — this would be my choice. That’s pink makes me so happy!!
The walls in this bedroom are done in a Brunschwig & Fils print. I love fabric walls!!!!!
The bed linens are Casa Branca for Sferra. Beautiful room done in all cream and white with touches of black in the bed and the drapery rods.
What a precious headboard!!! I love the ties on the side. The CASA Branca fabric and
The linens are divine!
Beautiful custom sofas in another great Casa Branca paisley fabric. I love the all pink room with the touches of blue in the pillows , benches, and this art. Note the swing arm lamp above the piece of art in between the windows— what a great idea!!!
The oh so talented Designer Alessandra Branca. What a stunning job she accomplished at this storybook location.
