Happy Friday!!! Tomorrow is the first day of December....so exciting!! In my world of design it is a very busy three weeks ahead making sure everyone is taken care of for Christmas and New Years. There are a lot of “T”s to cross and “I”s to dot!!!! I hate to say it... but I do not miss the phone calls that some of the lights on the garland or tree have gone out....... My Elf hat of 24 years retired. My 58 year old back and my sanity say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I had one party last night and two this weekend. Because I am almost finished wrapping I can truly enjoy myself. I must say decorating my house last weekend and my client’s new house this week has worn me out a bit. I see a late morning’s sleep in store for tomorrow!!! I have a huge install in two weeks for a job that we have need working on for over 6 months. It was a kitchen and family room remodel and we reupholstered all of the living and dining room with new draperies. All tones on gold and grey... very sophisticated like my client. I absolutely cannot wait to see it all in place!!!!!!! I will be doing a lot of bookshelves when all gets back in.... I am looking forward to making everything feel fresh and wonderful for my client. We are hanging art in different places as well.... they have so much to choose from it will be a blast!
Today’s article we found on line with Veranda. What an incredible story about this house! The Beverly Estate is now on the market for $135 Million.... Christmas present anyone????? JFK and Jackie Kennedy spent their honeymoon at this mansion. It was also used in the filming of The Godfather and The Bodyguard. Originally owned by William Randolf Hearst it became the West Coast presidential election headquarters for JFK‘s presenting campaign in the 1960’s. It was designed by Gordon Kaufman in 1927 and includes 19 bedrooms, 29 bathrooms, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Gordon Kaufman also designed the Hoover Dam, Hollywood Palladium, the Los Angeles Times building, and the Santa Anita Racetrack. What an amazing architect!!!!!
Enjoy this gorgeous home and have a fabulous first weekend of Christmas!
