Editor’s note: Today I am wearing a sweater from Ann Taylor, pants from Theory, and shoes from Aquazurra.
Happy Monday !! I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!!! I know we sure did. Lunch was marvelous and the Cowboys won!!!!! The Macy’s parade was wonderful as usual and I feasted on shrimp and smoked salmon at the Rivercrest buffet. We had joy and laughter at our table! I set a record by finishing the house for Christmas is only 2 days. I was a Christmas machine!!!! The boxes are even put away. It was so lovely to come home from church and dinner last night to a decorated and festive house. We had a fire, burned Christmas candles, and took all of the Christmas finery in on Riley’s last night here. She will be back for Christmas of course.... but I will have to do without her until then. I have absolutely loved having her home for over a week. I worked on Friday even though the design world was closed. Lacie Rue and I got a lot done. I even decorated my office for Christmas this year. Last year I found out I had breast cancer at the beginning of December....so even though it was my first Christmas in my new studio...I was not in a joyous mood. I am officially cancer free for one year as of today....so this year I have much to celebrate!!!!!!!! Christmas has always had special meaning to me.... but this year is different. I have the gift of life which is the best gift in the world!!!!!! Mackenzie and I are busy doing quotes and getting things ordered today after our mini holiday. Here are my Instagram pics from last week. Enjoy and have a wonderful day. It is Christmas time!!! Joy to the World!!!!
Our tree this year has all of my mother’s and my favorite ornaments . Ones that my brother and I made in the 60s.....ones that Riley and Harrison made as children...ones from my great grandparents. It was an awesome feeling to finish the tree and place already wrapped presents underneath!!!! Mother has a collection of bears and other animals that i have all around the tree. My moving Mickey and Minnie Mouse are behind the tree on either side of my antique bench. I love having bears under and around the tree. On Christmas morning after the presents are opened..... it still looks festive and full. You can see my Riley’s feet in the corner. She was admiring the tree and her Momma’s handy work.
I used my Great grandmother’s white table cloth this year. It has a monogrammed “C” on it for Covert. There are some stains and tiny holes in it..... but it just makes it look the age it is... from the late 1800s!!!!! The tiny Santa cups on the table were hers as well. I put my Santa Collection in the eteger.
I placed my hand painted Santa’s on top of my bookcase that houses all of my client bags.
I took a lot of my nutcrackers home this year and placed them on top of our china cabinet. Since I have furniture from my old house in my studio.... the trunk that I used as a coffee table in my family room housed a lot of my Christmas. I had fun pulling out nutcrackers and Santa’s to decorate my office and take some home on Saturday. Lacie Rue came with me to work.... of course she was VERY happy to get to go to the “workplace” on Saturday!
I also have a huge collection of bears. I added some to my antique sofa for a little more Christmas cheer!
I love everything about this table. I love that the vases don’t match....that pink was used for Thanksgiving ....how the candlelight makes the table glow......and those dishes. LOVE!!!!!
I love this vintage Thanksgiving greeting.
Gracie wallpaper elevates any room to the next level.
This table is absolutely glowing!!!!!
