Happy Monday! Although it was a sad weekend for me with my uncle Blair’s funeral on Saturday .... it was still good to be with family and friends celebrating his life. The service was beautiful. I am such a task oriented person that it felt odd and made me disoriented to spend my whole Saturday on the funeral and reception. Sunday I got my errands run and wrapped whole watching the Cowboy game. Oh my goodness..... no one expected the Cowboys to win.... but they pulled it off!!!! TCU won on Saturday against Baylor and LSU won. I don’t remember a weekend when all of my teams won.....maybe Blair made sure it would happen from heaven! It certainly made a sad weekend end on a happy note. We have a super short week with Thanksgiving this Thursday...and a whole world of problems happened this morning that need to be resolved. We have spent the first 4 hours of our Monday addressing problems. I HATE it when that happens!!!!!!! When I worked at Bloomingdales in the buying office in New York— the majority of my days were just solving problems. Not much fun but I am good at attacking them when they arise. My funniest story solving a problem in New York was when a shipment of bras was lost that was due to the catalog devision . We had orders against the shipment so it needed to be solved quickly. True to the way Bloomingdales just threw their assistants into the fire.... my buyer just said to solve it. Period. So I got out the directory and called the first person’s name in the catalog department . Little did I know ... but I called the Senior VP of the division. She was very nice to me and got back to me very quickly . When I went to my buyer and told her how I solved the problem....she was mortified that I had called that lady. I told her that she was very nice to me and if she wanted it solved another way... she should have told me up front. This tall blond from Texas had a lot of guts and just got the job done!!!
