Editor's note: Today I am wearing a black vintage black sweater, a Banana Republic skirt, and Coach flats.
Happy Wednesday! My second day in Dallas this week! I love my creative days-- and even better when we have an almost springlike day in Texas in January. Last week we were running around with a heavy coat and sweaters. Gotta love Texas-- give it 6 hours and it can be a whole new temperature! Lacie Rue-- my springer spaniel/border collie mix-- who has been coming to work with me does not like Wednesdays because she has to stay home. Now Lacie would gladly go to Dallas and I am sure would wow all of the showrooms......but not sure all of the showrooms would be ready for this big personality! So Lacie Rue will have to take extra naps while Momma is working today.
The article I am featuring today I found in the newest issue of Veranda-- which by the way is fabulous!!! This apartment in New York was once owned by Diana Ross-- how cool is that!designer Jeffrey Bilhuber does an outstanding job making the apartment perfect for a California couple looking for an incredible "getaway" home in NYC . The apartment occupies an entire floor of the Sherry-Netherlands on Fifth Avenue .Enjoy the article and have a super day!
Oh this entry! Jeffrey Bilhuber worked closely with architect Mark Ferguson transforming this apartment . There was not one wall left untouched! The front door is AMAZING!! The bronze and glass design goes perfectly with the 1920s apartment. The glamour continues with the antique Directoire chest and Greek key mirror. I love the lamp in the middle of the mirror-- not something I normally do but I love the look.
The spirit of Diana Ross lives on in the apartment with this large phot over the sofa tucked in the niche of the study. Diana Ross was the first concert that the wife ever attended when she was 16. So special!!!!!!!!!
I could live in this living room all day long and twice on Sundays! The colors!!! That view of Central Park! WOW!!! So many glamorous details with the lacquered walls and mirror insets. The green draperies are intended to continue the vast view of Central Park. The wife's favorite colors are dialed up to meet the vibrancy that the husband wanted. An all in all fabulous room!!!
The green continues in the dining room with the velvet wrapped around the walls. How luxurious! The custom banquette is done in a beautiful Pierre Frey fabric. The Regency table is perfect in the room. I love the contrast of the turquoise , blue , and pink on the roman shades. This picks up and complements the couples china pattern from Herend.
Gorgeous table setting with the Herend china and lovely Linens
Oh how I love an antiqued mirror wall in any room! This wall behind the bed adds such glamour and depth to the room. Stunning linens on the bed by Julia B. Love , love the window treatments! Especially the way there trim is applied to the roman shades. Such a quiet , elegant , and stately master. No wonder Bilhuber's clientele includes Iman and David Bowie, Hubert de Givenchy, Elsa Peretti, and Michael Douglas.
Stunning and once again glamorous master bath. Gorgeous sconces from Water Works.. beautiful Greek key detail in the tile on the floor.
What a breathtaking view out of an incredible apartment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder Diana Ross chose to live here!!
