Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a dress by Chiara Boni and Coach shoes.
Happy Wednesday! It's hump day!! I get the pleasure of attending a luncheon today for Pathfinders with friends of mine-why I am dressed a little fancier than usual. I do not know much about Pathfinders, but I am excited to learn more about it. The keynote speaker is Billie Morgan whose talk "Save a Life" will talk about how he went from long-term incarceration to a life of giving back to others. It sounds very moving! My Dallas day will be tomorrow so that I can go to this luncheon today. I will report back tomorrow!
The article I am featuring today I found in the new Galerie Magazine that I received 2 weeks ago. I am in love with this magazine! I found a letter from Cary Kravet in the front of the publication just the other day saying it was a gift from Kravet for my business. Thank you Kravet! This magazine now ranks up there with Veranda, Traditional Home, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor & House Beautiful for me. If you have not seen it-look for it. Fabulous! The article is on a Pied-a-Terre in Paris owned by artist Vik Muniz and his wife Malu Barreto. The article focuses on the oh so interesting life of this couple and their family.
Have a great day! Enjoy!
This apartment on the left bank of Paris in the 7th arrondissement was found by Muniz's mother-in-law three years ago. They jumped on the opportunity and remodeled with Basil Walter and Brenda Bello of BWArchitects who have collaborated on other projects with Muniz. The family also has homes in Rio de Janeiro and Brooklyn. This living room pictured features a Claude Lalanne mirroe over the gorgeous marble mantel. The art on either side is a collection of photographs from flee-market finds and fine-art. Those french doors opening onto Parisian streets sends me to the moon-I adore Paris! LOVE love the light fixture, too!
Muniz has installed only two pieces of his own works, including the portrait of his wife hanging in this living room. He uses itsy bitsy magazine images to put his images together. What a stunning work of art!
Here is another one of Vik Muniz's works of art hanging above the breakfast table. Muniz and Barreto undertook much of the decorating themselves. The lightweight Eames chairs paired with the kitchen farm table is the perfect pop of color-such a quaint breakfast area! And, the trio of pendants hanging by Louis Poulsen adds a smorgasbord of colors to the room.
Just look at this tropical punch to the children's room with the lively wallpaper by Deyrolle. I love how this adds a whimsical touch of featuring animals and insects that Baretto and Bello discovered in Paris's famed Deyrolle taxidermy shop.
What a lovely master bedroom! A Jean Tinguely drawing and a Mel Bochner painting are resting atop the bed. I just love this! And the adjoining bath is clad in another whimsical Deyroll wallpaper-LOVE LOVE!

I just love this!
Last night for dinner I had salmon with lemon butter and steamed brussel sprouts.
I LOVE THIS SONG!
