Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a dress by Rebecca Taylor and shoes by J.Crew.
Happy Thursday! I signed the 60 plus page lease on my new design studio this morning in the back of the leasing agents SUV. She stood behind me so my "Marilyn Monroe" dress would not fly up! Big day for Kay Genua Designs. I have been doing design work for 27 years and have been on my own for 15. I am really excited to have my name on the front of the studio on Camp Bowie after all this time! Today my blog is on another great designer who has her own studio on Slocum Street in the Design District in Dallas. Jan Showers is beyond talented! I know you will enjoy this wonderful and beautiful home. We are on the end curve of the week--looking forward to the weekend. Happy Day!
What a quietly elegant room! The sofa, cocktail, and chandelier are all from Jan Showers' collection. Love the Kyle Bunting rug made of hide and the lucite and brass cocktail table. All around beautiful room!
I have a thing about banquettes and adore this one with the square buttons in the back. I love how it is tucked into a little nook with the swing arm lamps. Beautiful coloration!
What a stunning room! The silver leaf ceiling and the blue walls make the room so icy and elegant. The green accessories pop so beautifully against the blue. Just beautiful!
This console is also part of Jan Showers collection and is flanked by some 1930's Italian chairs. I have been told that chairs like this should be called "useless chairs" because no one is going to sit in them but they add to the whole look of the room. The walls are covered in Gracie wallpaper which is always a good answer!
What a great study! I love the pumpkin color Clarence house fabric on the sofa and the collection of art on the wall. I love collections of anything! Together it is all so powerful!
How stunning is this De Gournay wallpaper?! Another one of my favorite companies. There wallpaper is truly a work of art!
Oh my goodness! To get to go to sleep at night and see that beautiful green silk above the bed--truly fit for a King or Queen. Love the console with matching bench in the window and the quietly elegant drapes with the key trim.

This song brings back great memories from the 70's. So fun and sweet!
