Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a Club Monaco skirt, top by Ann Taylor Loft, and my new Valentino flats.
Happy Wednesday! It's hump day! My day started out going over my new lease for my own studio--boy I am finally a big girl at age 57! So many details--but very exciting! I get to attend a dinner tonight for the Exchange Club honoring one of my oldest and best friends. I have a new dress which adds to this festive event! More to come tomorrow! Today I am featuring a home in Oakland, California that the article describes as "an ever-evolving personal design laboratory." It is so well done--every inch--and I would love someday to be able to make my home always changing. Now that my kids are out of college--maybe one of these days! I get to do it vicariously though my design work with all of my clients--so I really should not complain! Make it a great day!
What a warm and comfortable room. I love the Peter Dunham linens on the custom sofa. The decor of the house is said to be inspired by the 70's and 80's look acquired by "well-off Easterners" with lots of plaid and bamboo handles. The Ralph Lauren chairs achieves this effect.
Beautiful entry! I love the Benjamin Moore paint color Stone Brown on the ceiling. A little "useless" chair always adds to any moment.
Beautiful boxwood encased entry to the house. Always a good answer!
Beautiful old staircase in this upstairs landing. I love the assortment of art used on the walls going up the stairs.
The antique chairs in this dining room look exactly like ones that I sold to my client that I am meeting with today! Love the stripe on the top and the plaid seats by Holland & Sherry (who makes men's ware looking fabrics.) The Schumacher wallpaper adds so much to this room--just beautiful!
Another Holland & Sherry fabric adorns this high and dramatic headboard. I often do headboards over scaled. So much more interesting and supported by pillows!
Oh that vanity! Yes please!! Great use of space. The Napoleon bust adds a regal look to the bath. Pure elevation!
Blue is always such a calming color--and this rich blue envelopes the room in a fine way. Love the antique chest--gorgeous wood! The detail on the bottom of the draperies is a super way to add interest.
I would love to sit outside in this sitting area and enjoy a cocktail--yes please!
I love the eclectic grouping of different accessories throughout this room from the art work, books, to the many different accessories on the desk in the back. The Ralph Lauren stripe pillows look very cozy to curl up on and read a book!

Dinner last night was grilled chicken and grilled brussel sprouts from Central Market. We also had a side of beans and jicama salad. Healthy and delicious!
This song will always remind me of working in the morning with the buyers at Bloomingdale's with the radio on!
