Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a dress from Rag and Bone and kitten heels from Banana Republic.
Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is upon us and fire up!! Yesterday was my precious mother's birthday and I will not say how old she is because our family has always said that a lady does not tell her age, but let me just say that she looks mighty fabulous no matter what age she is! Dear Lord please pass along those gens to me. Last night we were fortunate enough to have the Fort Worth Garden Club's cocktail party fall on mother's birthday eve. It was a stunning night with a cool breeze and the home where the party was held was beyond incredible! It is built on the prime party of the old Leonard estate that has a view off a cliff on the back. The panoramic view of Fort Worth is breathtaking. I was fortunate enough to attend parties at the Leonard's estate growing up so I remember the grandeur of this almost plantation like property. The whole Leonard estate is now dividing into around eight different lots that are very nice size so you can image how large the estate was. I wish I had taken more pictures of the floral arrangements at the cocktail party. Members of the Garden Club do arrangements that are scattered throughout the house for the cocktail party on Thursday and the event on Friday. Some day I hope to have enough time to do an arrangement for this event. I don't like the world knowing it but I am very good at flowers. Mother and I had a wonderful time--it was fun being at a party for her birthday! Have a super weekend coming up and I will see you on Monday!
The entrance to the house. There is my precious mother in the doorway. They had these flower encrusted maniacs on the front and the back terrace. Just incredible. The son of the homeowners is an incredible artist. I would not be surprised if he did these.
One of the maniacs in the back with the incredible view behind. How stunning?!
The other maniac in the back. The wood that you see behind the manic is the slighted roof to the downstairs terrace and grotto.
The downstairs terrace! What an incredible view.
How cool is this grotto on the downstairs terrace level?! It reminds me immediately of the blue grotto in Capri, which I have had the fortunate of seeing. The water inside the blue grotto in Capri is such an electric blue that it looks fake. It was an incredible moment in my life.
A picture of the blue grotto in Capri. When the sea is rough you have to tuck at the opening going into this incredible cave.
Love these quotes! Never give up!
Beautiful catered buffet at the party with one of the Garden Club members floral arrangement in the center.
What I chose off of the buffet--tenderloin, asaparagus, and some trimmings. I skipped the mac and cheese that I was supposed to put these toppings on even though it looked divine.
My son Harrison called Michael Buble--Michael Bubbly, but no matter how you say his name his music is fabulous! This song is so sweet and so true!
