Editor's Note: Today I have a new Valentine's present blouse from Banana Republic, an oldie but goodie skirt from Banana Republic, scarf by Hermes, and brand new Manolo Blahnik shoes!
Happy Friday everyone! Leave it to me the magazine pack rat to find an unwrapped Veranda from March-April 2016 that I had not read. In it I found a gorgeous article about a house in Santa Barbara, California. It is a second home for a Louisiana couple. Designed by Interior Designer Ann Holden from New Orleans. This elegant home was once a part of the 848 acre Arcady Estate owned by industrial George Owen Knapp. The property was sub-divided in the 40's and this structure was altered in the 1950's. Besides loving the property and the design work in the home one of my favorite aspects of this house is the that Ann Holden reduced one large room and created a living, dining, and sitting room for more intimate spaces. I love to find rooms that allow art, pieces of furniture, and lamps to go against walls. My opinion is the current architectural style where everything is open is going to change within the next 15 years, but that is just me. I hope everyone has a great weekend! It is suppose to be a gorgeous one here!
Such an elegant entrance to the home!
What a stunning fountain in the garden!
There are many elements of this room that I love but I think that the skirted table in the Fortuny fabric with the frogs on the corner is my favorite! Just elegant!
A gorgeous dining room with Zuber wallpaper and Christian Liaigre chairs! I adore the mixture of the new chairs and the 18th-century table.
Beautiful entry full of elegant antiques from top to bottom! I love every piece that she used.
Little twist of contemporary in the upstairs sitting room with the gorgeous chandelier from M. Naeve. The custom velvet banquette is just stunning!
What an incredible guest room opening onto the garden! I adore the bedding!!
Different glimpses of the garden surrounding the house! Simple stunning!
What a glorious pool that was added in the 1950's. I love the Janice et Cie furniture around the pool. I have used this collection before and it is gorgeous!
