Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a skirt from J Crew, a blouse from Theory, and shoes from Bettye Muller.
Happy Wednesday! What a glorious week so far with cooler temperatures—the mornings are actually chilly! I cannot wait for my first fire-the high has to be only 50 degrees for me to think it is finally time. Yesterday I took my dog Lacie Rue to work-I so enjoyed my fur baby by my side all day! Today I am shopping local to source side tables and accessories. We do after all have some wonderful stores in Fort Worth! I always love when I get to have a purely creative day in my own town!
The article I am featuring today is on the 2016 Napa Valley Designer Show house as seen in this month’s Traditional Home. The whole article is wonderful, but I am only going to talk about some of my favorite rooms in the house. Otherwise my blog would be VERY long featuring all 15 of these designers. If you have not seen the current issue of Traditional Home-pick one up! It is a great issue as always. Have a super day!
The Great Room was done by Kim Scodro. Pictured here is an armless sofa by CR Laine dressed in a beautiful blue velvet. I love how the arms wrap around the seat cushion! The wallpaper is Thiabault’s cream marble. Such a great statement as you enter the house!
A larger view of the Great Room. How interesting to use two sets of chairs sitting on hides to form the seating area by the fireplace. The trio of lanterns are by Circa Lighting. The blue from the entry sofa is pulled across the room in the roman shades. I love the interesting backs of the chairs on the left-so cool. The oil over the fireplace makes my heart sing.
What dramatic wallpaper in the powder room designed by Kimberly Harrison. The fringed tiered pendants and the mirror add to the glamour of this jewel box room.
This family room designed by Leslie Kalish and Gayle Liksan is organic and peaceful. Pratt & Lambert’s matte charcoal paint sets the tone perfectly. I love the wide stripe with interest in the forefront-and the console is fabulous.
Jean Liu’s Pratt & Lambert’s “Siam Blue” is so wonderfully dramatic in this guest room. Yes, please, to the Louis Vuitton trunk under the contemporary console. I truly cannot think of a place in a house where a Louis Vuitton trunk would not add to the room.
The Gracie wallpaper in this master bath makes the whole space purely magnificent. What a perfect space by Elle Cole. The blue background is a nod to the blue skies of Napa.
What a great “moment” on this landing designed by Beth Dotolo and Carolina V Gentry. The art over the oh so shapely console is perfect against the tone-on-tone coloration. Those hair on hide stools give me happy chills!
Beautiful and serene bath. Love the shapely rounded edged tub and light fixture overhead by Circa Lighting. The Calcatta marble shower in the corner seems to float. What a gorgeous view outside the window so tastefully dressed in an ombré stripe.
Alexa Hampton-who I have had the pleasure of meeting at Design Inspirations in Fort Worth-creates such a lovely upper-level master bedroom. The bed, bedside tables, white lacquered side table, and oversized chairs are all Alexa’s designs for Hickory Chair. What a talented lady!
