Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a leather skirt by Vince, blouse from Ann Taylor, poncho from Hendri Bendel, tights from J.Crew, and flats from Valentino.
In looking at my new January/February 2017 of Luxe Interior + Design Magazine there was a continuing spread that I adored. It was entitled "Eye on Design 2017." One was on color, one on kitchens, one on materials, and the last one was all about architecture. These are all internal parts of my design world and I thought it would be fitting to talk about them in my blog this week! Today I will talk about the article "All About Color." Color truly has the ability to transform a room and to let the personality of the home owner shine! Of course different clients have different tastes, which plays into the color used on the walls, fabrics, and rugs. A pop of color in any room will make the whole room come to life! The rooms in this article are beautiful and well done and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
This room was designed by Debora Walker and I find the room to be elegant and balanced. She said that her clients weren't afraid of color which gives the designer permission to add wonderful sparks to a room! My favorite element in this room is the bench. So beautiful!
This room was designed by one of my favorite designers Joseph Minton. The silk wallpaper in this Master Bedroom is beyond stunning! What a beautiful piece of art enveloping the room!
Beautiful and dramatic Dining Room designed by Jan Showers. What drama this blue Venetian plaster gives to the walls!
This room designed by Mark Ashby was actually in my blog from last week! The pop of orange in this sitting area brings the area to life!
This formal Dining Room was designed by Jennifer Vaughan Miller. The otherwise quiet room truly comes to life with the incredible art work! I adore the chandelier from IMC gallery in New York!
This is one of my favorite rooms in the article. I adore the French blue on the chairs and the benches along with the beautiful coral and soft green. Not only is the color gorgeous in this room but the architecture is equally as stunning! The black and white floors add magic to the room! A job well done by Laura Umansky in this beautiful Houston home!
Incredible piece of art by Rena Gonzalez stills the show in this media room! This beautiful Dallas home was designed by Gonzalo Bueno.
This gorgeous Dining Room was designed by Tiffany Mckenzie. The gorgeous wallpaper is my GP&J Baker and what quiet elegance it adds to the room! The pop of chartreuse and fuchsia add a playful quality to the room!
What stunning hand painted wallpaper from Porter Teleo! This wallpaper makes the room look like a moving piece of art. Beautiful job done by Chandos Dodson Epley!
Great tidbits from the designers about color! I always love to read what other designers have to say!
