One of my favorite stores in Dallas in my design career has been East & Orient in the Design District. I sadly found out last week that they are going to retire. It has been one of my favorite stores to go to for the finest antiques to place in my projects. When I was purging my magazines this past weekend I found the article on Betty Gertz beautiful home in Dallas. The home is as beautiful and as special as her antique store. Here is the article from Architectural Digest from January 2016 and some pictures of my shopping in this elegant store!

This beautiful table is being used for a project I am working on completing for February 2017!
For the home we are completing in February I found this fabulous pair of iron consoles for the entry, a game table for the great room, and a beautiful inlaid table for the entry hall! Can't wait to show you the finished project!
Steel Magnolia Tip # 28: Stay away from bossy people. If you encounter a bad one--say "Did someone die and make you the Queen of Sheba?" The confusion alone of this will cause in the bossy person is enough to just walk away.
Dinner last night was a spicy ground beef from Central Market with a salad topped with arugula and avocado.
Along with a side of my homemade spicy zucchini soup served cold. Delicious!!
