Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a skirt and white blouse by Banana Republic, and shoes by oh so sad dfunked company C.Wonder--I use to love this company along with a vintage turquoise belt.
The transitional home that I have been working on for the past year has heated up again with selections that need to be made. We had a little bit of a slow down because we charged architects in mid-stream of laying the foundation. Now all systems are go and we are back in the selection mood! This week we worked on lighting and plumbing fixtures! There are so many elements that go into building a house and making the whole house complete. Some elements are more fun to chose than others but they are all very important. It is like writing a book every chapter is important to the whole book. We had a great time in Dallas on Wednesday selecting lighting and have choices for every where expect the front entry. Today we did plumbing fixtures and completed almost everything expect the Master and the Powder Room. So all and all it was an extremely productive week and I feel great about our choices! Here are pictures of our day in Dallas on Wednesday selecting lighting!
This cool chandelier made of shells in an option for over the breakfast table.
We got a little sidetracked in the showrooms we went into and talked about other elements and furniture. We are going to furnish the house in mostly white upholstery with pops of color in the art and the accessories. My client loved these beautiful blown vases!
We first saw this chandelier hanging and then it was getting moved to a different spot--thus the picture on the floor.
This is another option for the Breakfast or in multiplies in the entry.
We loved the etageres for the game room! Love these colorful jars with lids!
All of these really floated our boat! These will for sure find a place in the home!
This waterfall island that is in the Holly Hunt showroom has the thickness of the leg and the knee space that my client wants in the kitchen!
An option for over the Kitchen Islands!
This cool bubble chandelier can be done in any size and might be the front runner for the entry hall!
Another option for over the kitchen islands!
We loved this whole grouping from Hammerton and they can customize the lighting to go outside!

These beautiful star chandeliers are an option for the entry hall hung in a set of three.
This beautiful chandelier from Kelly Wearstler is a front runner for the Dining Room.
My client taking a break from me dragging her around Dallas on this beautiful chaise that we are thinking about for the Master.
This cool chandelier is also a front runner for the Dining Room. It can come in silver or gold. It is a replica of the chandelier from the Bel-Air Hotel from the 1950's. Jimmy Choo puts this chandelier in all the entries of his showrooms worldwide. What a cool story!
Another option for the Dining Room!
We found some new sofas on the floor in Holly Hunt that are quickly becoming front runners for the great room. So comfortable and beautiful!
A similar frame with leather and upholster and beautiful metal legs!
Another view of the chaise that we liked for the Master. It was dreamy to lay on!
A desk that she liked for her personal study.
A beautiful buffet that we are thinking of ordering two to mirror each other into the entry of the Dining Room.
Steel Magnolia Tip # 26: When your world is falling apart--stare your world straight in the eye and say
"You are not the boss of me!!"
Love these quotes that I found this morning!
Last night I had two events. Thirsty Thursday at River Crest with wine tasting and h'orderves. Then I headed on to Cork & Pig Tavern for a Birthday Dinner! Good time was had by all but so sorry I did not take a picture of my food. I had so much fun laughing and seeing friends! My motto is have a good time no matter where you are and life will be more fun!
This sing a song song always makes me break out into song! By the way I sing no matter where I am --in the car, at home, in a store, I really don't care. When the mood hits me I really go with it! Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! Have a safe and wonderful three day weekend!
