Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a Rebecca Taylor silk blouse, Ann Taylor dress shorts, and J.Crew kitten heels.
As I mentioned the past two days this month's issue of Veranda inspired me for three different blogs. My blog today is on this gorgeous house in Charleston, South Carolina designed by Amelia Hadengan. She is a South Carolina native who specializes in renovating this period homes. Not only did I love what she did with the home but I am fascinated with Charleston. We used to vacation in Kiawah, which is about 45 mins outside of Charleston and go into the city to eat dinner at night and some shopping during the day. Because I loved old things and antique and architecture--Charleston was a treasured trove to my senses. So this article had a special meaning to me! Here are the beautiful images of this very well renovated home! Job well done Amelia Hadengan!
I love all the elements of this Living Room! The upholster is sumptuous! The antique minarets are incredible and so unique!
The floors are restored to perfection! What a beautiful room?!
The kitchen is brought up to date and so functioning for the needs of today but still fits into the house.
I adore and use the banquettes in Breakfast settings quiet often. This little corner is so inviting!!
The antique Indian Pichhwai wall hanging in this room is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen!! What a piece of art!
The circa-1840 American bed and canopy is extremely elegant and so hard to find! I am proud the owner of a bed that has been in family since the 1840's. My bed originated from Michigan and means so much to me that it has been past down in my family! This bed really sets the tone for the room!
All of the antiques in the room are so elegant and fitting for this restored home! The rug is sumptuous!
