Editor's Note: Today in New York City I am wearing a Joie dress, Vince Camuto sandals, and vintage belt.
When I planned my trip to New York to help my client Janet with her daughter Mary Ellen's apartment. I planned to come in Saturday before starting working on Monday to help Riley. I did not know she would have found her apartment and would already have the keys. I was busting at the seems to get in there and start measuring and drawing the rooms. Of course I love designing rooms anyways but when it is for one of my children I get major pumped!! We have so much furniture to pull from either from my former house or her house that she had at TCU. That I must say I got fabulous furniture for! Here are pieces that I am thinking about using in the apartment. Of course all of this will not fit but I am great at small spaces and will utilize every square inch to make it one of the sassiest apartments in NYC. Here we go Riley girl--I am going to make you a fabulous nest!!
The incredible sofa that I scored major on from Lee Jofa!! $5,000 sofa that I got for $900--hot diggity dog!!
I bought her Dining Chairs for her TCU house at Round Top. The Cowtan & Tout fabric on the seats was still looking great and still is to this day. Probably only two of these will get to go to NYC while the others will wait for her to come home some day!
The Marble Top table that I found in Round Top that I am planning on using in either the Living Room or the Bedroom.
Close up view of the table. Such a great find!!
Riley's room at TCU. I think the corner chair will for sure find a home due to the small scale as well the draperies and the lamps. This dressing table might be a little large for her bedroom so she might get the one that use to be in my Master Bedroom. The Chanel print is for sure going! Riley loves Chanel!!
The headboard and mattress will for sure go and I am praying that the chest of drawers will fit.
The marble lamp I found in Round Top and will also land in her bedroom.
I am hoping this hall tree will be able to fit close to their entrance. It would be great for umbrellas and winter coats.
It use to live in her bedroom growing up with hats and necklaces.
This pair of floral chairs is one option for the Living Room.
This chaise lounge I bought when I lived in NYC. It has traveled everywhere with me.
It might travel back to NYC and live in Riley's Living Room.
This was my Dining Table that I used in New York. I spent my graduation from college money on it along with six chairs.
It is a great draw leaf table and I have had many dinner parties on it.
My kidney shaped dressing table might be the better shape dressing table for her bedroom if it will fit!!
This bearu I bought for Riley in Paris when she was three years old. The owners of the Market who I was in Paris thought I was crazy buying a piece of furniture for a three year old. I am hoping it will sit beside the sofa in the Living Room.
This is another option for a chair in the Living Room that I would use with the chaise lounge. The Coraggio Mohair is still looking mighty fine!
This white loveseat reupholstered in a Coraggio patterned velvet. It is super comfortable and was a gift to me from one of my clients that wanted it out of their house attic. Once it was re-upholsted it looked like a million dollars. The table next to it is the marble top table is the one that I already have a picture of. The Lee Jofa sofa is the one that I showed you earlier.
Here we go! May the best scaled sofa win! I can't wait to plan this apartment.
Steel Magnolia Tip 8: Smile and smile big! The world loves to see a smiling face!
Love these quotes!
Love spending time with my Riley girl!!
Last night for dinner we went to Beauty & Essex--Riley and I love this restaurant. It is such a fun atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious. I even splurged on some onion rings and french fries!
This Stevie Wonder song reminds me of my years at Tulane. It always warms my heart.
