Editor's Note: Today I am wearing top from Carven, new size 6 "thank you very much I was so excited" from Anthropologie,
and Nine West Metallic Sandals.
I love the House Beautiful Issue so much I decided to write a second blog about other images that truly caught my eye. I am always looking for new fabrics that are either new to me or I have missed them in the showroom and accessories and lighting lines. After I dissect an issue of an magazine I try to rip out pages that I think will be right for a client and stick in their bag. I never know when a client is going to want to refresh a room, add to a room, or have a new project for me! Here are some of the highlights of what I earmarked.
There is so much about this room that I love!! I love the collection of art on the walls. I often do this with disregard to whether the frames match or not. What a beautiful wall of art to wake up too! I have never done a cornice going over the windows and continuing going over the bed but I absolutely adore this look! I am sure to use it on a job in the future! The colorful embroidered fabric on the bed is so happy and adds so much to the room! I am a lover of monogram pillows so these pillows make my heart sing! All around beautiful job!!
I am not a big faucet coming out of the wall person but thought this was so elegant with the bamboo base. I am sure to use this look in a Powder Room sometime in the future when appropriate. I also have a think for a tiny chair in a powder room. I often do this look and I am always looking for what I call a "useless" chair for this application.
I have always loved yellow. My girls at Bloomingdale's use to call me Kay Yellow because I wore it so often. This solid yellow seating made my heart sing big! Love the large pillows on the sofa and the skirted side table!
I love Designer Guilds fabric and wallpaper and thought the fabrics in this Guest Room where incredible! The bedding looks similar to a line that I place very often Hamburg House. I thought every element of this room was well done and so charming!
This collage of art on the wall was also an inspiration for my client Mary Ellen in Brooklyn. We are not using all dark colored art as shown in this room but we are doing a similar presentation of art that she has collected!
A closer view!
Another room with a similar display of art. I love mixing sizes and frames of art to display.
Steel Magnolia Tip # 6: If your bank account is lower than you want--just don't look at it. Figure out a way to make more money and keep on keeping on!
Last night for dinner I had tomato basil salad with mozzarella cheese along with leftover chicken, shrimp, and salmon. It was divine!!
This Go-Go's song reminds me of my time at Tulane. It always makes me do a little jig in the car when it comes on!
