Editor's Note: Today I am wearing white blouse and skirt from Anthropologie, and red patten flats from J.Crew. Yesterday in my powder room my wallpaper got installed from Brunschwig and Fils. When I came home last night from work and came into my dressing room it took my breath away! True to "Kay" fashion I had to hang my art this morning before I went to work. Since our house was built in the 50's the ceiling height was not plume and it took me an hour to adjust my six prints. I was determined! The end result was fabulous and it makes my heart sing big!!!
In the 90's when I started my design career faux finishes were the big thing. Ed Ackerman was the King of the faux finishes and I used him on so many jobs. Over the years the pendulum has shifted back to wallpaper. I love wallpaper and how it transforms a room. It speaks volumes. Here is a sampling of some fabulous wallpaper available in the design world today.
My daughter Riley's Schumacher wallpaper is being installed today.
It is so pink and feminine and her bathroom will be dreamy!!
I love wallpaper from de Gournay they are hand painted and are truly like adding jewelry to the walls.
Beautiful cherry blossoms! Also from de Gournay.
Another stunning de Gournay with a metallic background.
This is another hand painted wallpaper collection from Gracie. I installed this paper in a dining room in the fall of 2014. It took my breath away!
Another view of the dining room.
A close up of one of the Gracie panels.
This Pierre Frey hand blocked paper is absolutely stunning! I have installed in a different color way in one of my client's homes.
Here are two fun and playful wallpapers from Stroheim designed by Dana Gibson.
This Lee Jofa wallpaper is in the showroom bathroom and it is so powerful and wonderful!
This is a hand painted wallpaper from Brunschwig and Fils. Beautiful!
This Brunschwig & Fil wallpaper is in the showroom in Dallas and is so happy and fun!!
Love these quotes that I found last night! Being a shoe girl I love the quote from Marilyn Monroe!
Last night for dinner Harrison cooked and we had blackened fish perch and snapper along with grilled asparagus and zucchini. The blackened fish was absolutely delicious but smoked up the kitchen so, we decided to eat in the dining room on my very loved Hermes place mates.
My best friend Beast gave me these Giraffe streamers that I have draped on the dining room table. Not sure my mother was pleased with this but I thought it was darling! The blue water glass was my great-grandmothers.
This is an old song that I just recently found last fall. Such a sweet song!
