Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a skit by Banana Republic, ruffled top from Ann Taylor, and a vintage Echo scarf belt from 1982.
This month issue of Architectural Digest brought to my attention how I love orange and how powerful it is in a room! It can be the predominate color or one spark of color to make the room pop! I learned in art class growing up how to read a painting and see the elements in it. The brightest color in a painting is what your eye goes to first and then you see the rest of the painting. The spark of color in a room is exactly like an oil painting and it is what attracts your eye first before you soak in the rest of the room. Here are some examples of the power of orange.
The wallpaper in this twin bedroom makes the whole room come alive and it is so happy!
The orange tulips in this monochromatic room add a great spark of color!
This same can me said for the orange pillows on this beautiful double white sofa.
This is a paler version of orange but it is still the star of the room!
This room demonstrates how much fun an explosion of color can be! This image is from House Beautiful.
The orange mixed with the hot pink it is a lush combination!
Colorful coasters will be a great accessory for any room!
Colorful cocktails napkins always add elegance and fun to any gathering!
Last night for dinner I had salmon seasoned with lemon, butter, and slap your mama cooked on 375 for 20 minutes.
We had some leftover oriental salad along with jalapeno sausage! Yummy!
Joshua Davis' version of the Beatles song In My Life is fantastic!
