Editor's Note: Today I am wearing linen jeweled skirt from Ann Taylor, Silk blouse from Joie and J.Crew patent leather flats.
Wednesday the 27th was my sweet mothers birthday. I wanted to make the day extra special for her with gifts and flowers so I have been planning her special day for over a month. I ordered peonies from a wholesale florist six weeks ago to be sure to have them. Mother loves peonies because they were in her wedding to my father. Almost had a hitch in my get a long when I went to pick up my peonies on Tuesday and found out the florist closed on 11:00 am that day. Being the determined girl that I am, I saw that they were receiving a shipment of flowers and I went through the stock room door. So my flower shopping was successful with peonies and roses. I hid the flowers downstairs where she would not see them so that I could create my arrangement the morning of her birthday and surprise her. Up and at 'em at 6:30 I got my flowers arranged and brought the wrapped presents down to have them on display where my mother eats breakfast. She was most surprised to wake up to her birthday treats. We went to dinner at Ellerbe's that night and had a lovely meal. The whole day was a big happy success!
6:55 am flowers done! The peonies were not opened yet and they started opening last night and now looking glorious!
All of mother's presents. What a festive morning!
Off to dinner in my silk dress from Ann Taylor and my kitten heels from Emilio Pucci.
This dress is at least 10 years and I proud to say that it fits great again!
Mother makes friends wherever she goes. This fabulous waiter at Ellerbe's use to work at Bistro Louise and that is where mother first met him!
Me and my precious mama!
Love this quote!
Last night for dinner I prepared ground bison seasoned with garlic oil, Tony Chachere's seasoning and ground pepper.
I cooked it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. The sweet kale salad is from the mixed from Costco. One of my favorites!
I will forever love my mommy!
