Editor's Note: Today I am wearing Ann Taylor jeans, silk blouse by Banana Republic, Vince Camuto shoes, and a vintage turquoise belt.
Scalamandre has always been one of my favorite fabric lines! It was founded in 1929 by Franco Scalamandre and has had a rich history from its conception. During the Kennedy administration Scalamandre fabrics were used in redecorating the White House with designers Maison and Jansen overseeing the project. Early in my design career Scalamandre was at its peak with a huge showroom in Dallas and had many employees. Almost every project I did had some Scalamandre fabrics in it. The fabric company fell on some hard times years ago and the showroom shut its doors. It is now owned by a business man from the East Coast, who is not from the fabric industry but who has researched and hired the best in the industry to bring it back to its glory! I was so excited that one of my favorite reps Steve Robinson is representing Scalamandre and all the fabrics he showed me were wonderful. The smart new owner has redesigned some of the more expensive fabrics that use to have silk in them with viscose keeping the design integrity of the fabric by keeping the cost way down. I am very excited to include many Scalamandre fabrics in the design work that I am doing at the moment. Here are some of my current favorites!
This is one of the fabrics that was redone in viscose instead of silk. It looks pale in the photo but it is stunning in person!!
Here is the fabric applied to a custom ottoman that I just had delivered to a client's daughter who lives in New York City.
She is BEYOND ECSTATIC about it!
Love the color and love the pattern!
Beautiful lead fabric for a room!
I love the lavender that is currently in the industry right now!
This fabric we are using in a Master Bedroom for pillows!
I can't wait to use this!
This would make a fabulous side chair!
Last night for dinner I had chicken and side salad including nuts and swiss cheese. Delicious!
This song always gets me dancing and singing!
