Editor's Note: Today I am wearing Banana Republic pencil skirt, top by Elie Tahari, shoes by Vince Camuto with my favorite Chanel pearls.
The motto for the "Kay Way" of dressing for work.. "If I don't look sassy.. I can't make my clients house look sassy!"
When I am dressing in the morning I think about what my schedule is for the day; who I am going to see and what I am going to be doing. Some days I feel like wearing a dress with heels and some days I feel like wearing dressy jeans with a t-shirt, pearls, and flats. Every day I incorporate some sense of my personality and try to wear a little something extra. My favorite heel is a kitten heel and I buy them almost whenever I find them except for Prada. I only have one pair of Prada's due to what the cost. I love pencil skirts, I love skinny jeans, I have a collection of belts that I have been collecting for 30 years and above all I love great jewelry. Jewelry does not have to be terrible expensive, it just needs to have attitude. If you read my blog and see my daily outfits you will see that Vince, Theory, Ann Taylor, J. Crew, Banana Republic, Rag and Bone are some of my favorite vendors! When I go to New York every summer to visit my best friend the Beast, I always go to Bergdorf Goodman and shop their sale. I buy so many clothes at Bergdorf's that I have them shipped back to Fort Worth. The savings are tremendous! I don't wear a lot of jackets or long sleeve shirts because they tend to constrict my creativity. I also must be bare foot when I am in my clients home when I am doing accessories. If it is a new client, I must explain to them that I am more creative way when I am barefoot. It is a strange way of doing things but it is the "Kay Way" of doing it and it works for me. Even though I am in mid 50's, the Cusp department at Neiman's is my favorite department. My clothes truly translate daily to my creativity. Here are some examples of the "Kay Way" for Dressing for Work..
Last night I had dinner out at Rivercrest. Sorry readers I forgot to take a picture. I had a delicious Tuna Tower and garden salad!
