Editor's Note: Today I am wearing cropped wool pants from J. Crew, sweater from Anthropologie, and Chanel kitten heels.
I love it when my new Architectural Digest comes now and I get to peruse every page and read the articles. This month issue featured the top 100 designers in the United States and in Europe. I would love to be on this list some day in my life. I will keep working towards that goal! Today I want to talk about an article about a villa in the South of France along with a 1950's motor yacht. Designer India Mahdavi designed them both for a client Isabel Ettedgui. The villa in the South of France is both architectural beautiful and beautifully decorated inside. The yacht is stunning! Happy Wednesday it is Hump Day! Counting down the weeks till Christmas--Only 18 days left! Get your shopping done everybody! I mailed my last box this morning it was a great feeling!
This room is so cool! The floor lamp is from Fortuny and the 1970's card table once belong to actor Omar Sharif. I am sure you have all seen the movie Doctor Zhivago-Omar was quite the killer looking man in that movie! I love the simplicity of this room and I adore the doors.
What a cool entry hall! The chairs are by Fornasetti and the table was found in London. I love when elements of a home are collected from different cities. It adds so much interest! As my grandmother "One Mamma" would say they are conversation pieces.
My first impression was how cool the arched entry ways were. I don't think I have every seen anything like that! The light fixture above the Dining Table is beyond cool! The lamp on the bar is my Christian Liaigre--whose furniture and accessories I love! I am looking forward to placing is items one day--they are quiet pricey!
I love this quote that Mahdavi's work is "very human." I pride myself in making my clients living spaces functions for their life style. How cool is this Salvador Dali style sofa in the shape of lips?! I love the palm style wallpaper in the bathroom shown above. What drama!
I must say in all my travels and what I have gotten to do in my life I have never been on a yacht. Seeing that I get very sea sick I may never go on a yacht but this one sure looks like fun! I love the yellow banquette in the yacht. So bright and happy! The tub on the right is back in the house--what an incredible back splash to this tub?! I have never done that but I am sure to incorporate this idea in one of my future projects!
Stunning wallpaper by Josef Frank as a backdrop to this incredible yellow bed! I adore yellow and love how it is incorporated into this house and yacht. What a dreamy room to get to sleep in!
