Editor's Note: Today in Dallas I am wearing a vintage Valentino dress and Vince Camuto heels.
Last Friday I had the immense pleasure of going to my goddaughter's deb party given with three other families. Because I am a designer I always look forward to seeing how the party is decorated which is one of my favorite parts beside the party itself! I like to get their early so that I can see the debs and take pictures of the different elements of the party that I love. I thought this party was fabulous! It was a brand new theme and use of decor and I thought it was unique and wonderful! The party planners were Nelson Robinson and Kathy Kreuter with Stageworks. I found out that night that one of my clients used them for her daughters wedding several years ago which was also beautiful. The band was Blind Date out of Austin who I have never heard before to my knowledge but I am really hoping that another deb party uses them because they were incredible!! Since I went solo to the party I did not have a dance partner otherwise I would have been major cutting a rug on the dance floor to the great music! It was a fabulous festive night and one that I know these girls will always remember! Here are some highlights!
This incredible lit sign was outside the ballroom where the party was held. Lots of people were taking pictures with it! It set a perfect tone for the entire party!
The were geos all over the room. Behind the bar, on pedestals, and the table tops were images of geos. So inventive!
The opening music was a duo playing electric violins. They were amazing!
A shot of the bar that was in the room with the band. Those are my friend Jon and Eleanor who did not know I snapped a picture of them. I went all the way through Country Day with Jon.
I know the lighting is dark but this the dad's dancing with their daughters. The scene behind the dance floor was fabulous!
My God daughter Lynn is in the short white dress on the right. I love her so!
The party girls dancing on the stage with the band! They were having the time of their life!
Lynn's mother Dana with my dear friends Scott and Brenda from Austin. Scott also went all the way through Country Day with me!
Riley with her friends Claire and KiKi. Riley flew in from New York two hours before the party started. What a turn around!
My friend Dee and Dana are godparents to Riley. We were having a family affair!
I love my Riley girl!
The photobooth was Imgur who sent the images directly to your phone. Always a fun and festive thing at a party!
Steel Magnolia Tip #101: Everyone has special talents that are unique to them. Find yours and go man go!
I think I will sleeping late the day after Christmas! Sounds wonderful doesn't it?!
Last night for dinner were Lamb Chops from Costco with steamed brussels sprouts. I served the rest of my family some Mac & Cheese from Central Market but I was a good girl. I love eating at my Christmas table! The red glasses were my grandmothers and I love them!
Another fabulous Christmas carol. Merry Christmas week everyone! Make it memorable!
