I just received my November/December Issue of Traditional Home with the gorgeous Christmas display on the cover! In keeping with the theme of decorating this week I thought it would be appropriate to discuss this beautiful home in Des Moines, Iowa. Traditional Home always does such a fabulous job on featuring beautiful homes and this is no exception! The home itself is very lovely as are the Christmas decorations. Even the bedrooms have Christmas decor in them which is so much fun! A touch that I have often done in the past! I hope everyone is having a good time getting their home festive for the holidays and ready for this more than fabulous Christmas season that we are beginning. Happy Thursday everyone! A holiday weekend is coming up!
I love the shaped chairs from Lillian August that are used in this Dining Room. The Juliska sparkles on the table! I love the serene colors in this Dining Room and the beautiful tapestry insets in the picture frame molding! How festive is this to have a Christmas Tree in the Dining Room?! I am fortunate that our Christmas tree is next to our Dining Room at home so I have a similar affect!
This fireplace is commanding in itself and is so beautiful adorned with the lit trees on top and the garland down below! I love all the shades of gray and taupe used in the room. So elegant!
A picture of the home owners Alan and Cindy Wells with their precious Wheaten Terrier, Molly. You can tell by the smiles on their face they are loving their home and life! The way we all should be!
What a comfortable and beautiful Family Room! I adore the beaded ceiling and beams! Decorating the iron chandeliers is reminiscence of decorating chandeliers at the Market which we always did at the store. The room is festive and full of Christmas without being over done.
I love the continuation of the beams and the bead board into the Kitchen. The Murano one-of-a-kind glass chandeliers adds such a touch of elegance. I love the garlands dipping down from the beams. I am so happy that I do not have to install this. That would take some type of ladder!
I think this sun-room is my favorite room in the house. I love how cozy this space is with the stoned fireplace surrounding. I adore the ottoman/coffee table. This is one of my favorite concepts to do in a small space that serves as a surface and a place to prop up feet.
What a Christmas setting with the snow on the rooftop on the front yard of their lovely home?!
The console table behind the sofa displays a Bible that has records of births, baptism, marriages from 20 generations from Cindy's family. How cool is that?!
I adore the daughter's bedroom! I love how the coverlet drapes all the way down to the floor with beautiful folds. I have done a crown in drapery over a bed only once before. I searched all over New Orleans for a coronet. I love this look!
What a beautiful and serene Master Bedroom! Very clean lined and elegant!

Steel Magnolia Tip #87: Try to enjoy every day of the holiday season and not to get overwhelmed by all that a Mother does during Christmas for everyone. Take a deep breath and use every day wisely!
I found these quotes last night and I love them!
Dinner last night was asparagus cooked in the oven with Chile oil and habanero sauce served with leftover lamb burger. Delicious!
I love all of these old Bread songs. They are so sweet!
