Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a black dress from H&M, a belt from Cole Hahn, and kitten heels from Nancy Nancy.
Yesterday Michelle and I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Jan Showers line with Kravet. Kravet asked her to do a lifestyle collection of furniture, fabric, lighting, rugs, and wall coverings. The fabrics were all elegant and beautiful! I could see using everyone of them on a job. Linen is one of my favorite types of fabric and she had incredible linens with beautiful colors! The furniture was all elegantly styled and great attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed the presentation, meeting her, and look forward to incorporating her line in a future design project. Here are some highlights of the day!
They set up a vignette of some of her new pieces! A lot of Jan Showers inspiration comes from furniture from the 40's that she found in Paris. She is successful translated this into new furniture that has this chic style about it!
This faux leather covered coffee table is beautifully shaped and is highly durable. She said someone split red wine on it in the High point Showroom in Market and it came right up! The curved lines on the sofa were so sexy and the sofa itself is so comfortable!
This sofa would be perfect in a Living Room. It's lowered back even allows for a tall person like me to put their elbows toward the back of the sofa. The faux bamboo legs made out of brass on the leather ottoman was such a beautiful detail. This ottoman would work in so many different spaces!
I have always had a love for nesting tables. I love the different levels and how I can accessorize them. This one that Jan created is beautiful! The lines on the chair are so stylish and the chair itself is extremely comfortable and worthy of TV watching but elegant enough to be in a Living Room!
Here is this sexy line sofa! So curvy and wonderful!
The back of the sofa! Oh wow! Stupendous! The sofa comes in two pieces so that it can go up an elevator in a high-rise. Very smart Jan Showers!
This beautiful chest could go in so many different places but would be the perfect bedside table!
This is the same table with a little bit better lighting and you can see the attention to detail in the lamp that is also in Kravet line designed by Jan Showers!
There I am sitting on the gorgeous pink linen sofa!
You can tell by my tall frame that this chair is comfortable. It comes up so high on my back. All 5 foot 10 of me!
This is in Jan Shower's showroom in Dallas. This also includes a sample of the wallpaper that is in her line.
This is another vignette that is in her showroom. There are also rugs in the line that she did not have sample of yesterday. I am very excited to see them because they will be able to be customized!
A close up view of this gorgeous ottoman!
This was a vignette shown at High point in North Carolina. Love the back on this side chair!!
Steel Magnolia Tip # 69: When life kicks you in the pants. Kick it right back!! Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and put a smile on your face and go man go!!
Love my inspirational quotes that I find!
Last night was a crab cake from Central Market seasoned with lemon, butter, and Slap Yo' Mama seasoning served with steamed broccoli. Yummy!
The soundtrack from the Preacher's Wife is still one of my favorites! I love this song by Whitney Houston. What a tragedy that this woman died so young!
