My November-December Veranda just arrived and I wanted to share with you this incredible article by Anne Gordan Getty fabulous home in San Francisco. This incredible home was built in 1913 in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. The Getty's prepare for family flying in from around the world to celebrate Christmas with them starting the first week of December. Of course this article is perfect timing which I am sure Veranda thought of to kick off the Christmas season. Since I have decorated homes for Christmas since 1990's I can appreciate the Christmas decor in the article but the house itself is fantastic! The rich colors used, the beautiful furniture, and gorgeous accessories are a feast for the eyes. I am sure many of you are starting to think since we are in the month of November about the holidays coming up. Happy Holidays to everybody let the festivities begin!
Oh my! This Dining Room. There are so many elements to the room that I think I could sit in the room for two hours and just stare at. The rich green and the touches of red and coral are so stunning!
The doric candlesticks on the buffet are reminiscence for me from working at The Market Antiques and Home Furnishings. I got to go to Paris four times with The Market to buy antiques and we often found accessories like these in the Paris flea market. The wallpaper makes the room glow!
Oh those front doors! If I could duplicate them I would sell them all day long. I love it when door knobs are in the middle of the door. What an elegant picture in the bottom left of Mrs. Getty with her beautiful dogs Yankee, Dandy, and Perpetua "what precious names". The 1820 canton famille rose plates are beautiful enough to display on the wall. How much fun to get to eat on them? What an elegant setting including this gorgeous baccarat and antique flatware.
Wow! This George II console is a work of art! I love the brackets on the wall as well holding the porcelin birds. I love to mix brackets and accessories along with art work. It adds so much dimensions and interest to a wall! The jewel tones used in this home remind me of the 1990's and look ever so fresh now!
The colors in this room make my heart sing! That gorgeous red/pink sofa against the teal wallpaper and the art work---WOW! What a gorgeous room?! I would love to sit and have a glass of wine in this room. Thank you please!
What a beautiful decorated tree with the wonderful music themed collection! Once again the fabrics in this room are stunning! The chandeliers are beautiful and graceful. The woodwork going around the room is so fitting for the period. What an incredible house for family and friends to gather in for the Christmas season! The house alone would make anyone feel like royalty!
