Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a cotton sweater from Ann Taylor, Jeans from AG, and Paul Mayer flats.
Since Michelle and I are traveling and are half way across the country from where we live we decide to do the blog on an article in Home + Design Departures. This beautiful apartment in Russia truly caught my eye with its bold color and beautiful fabrics. I have never been to Russia but the view out of the Living Room window looks like Paris. The work of this leading designer in Russia Kirill Istomin is both beautiful, tasteful, and imaginative. Kirill has packed this 2800 square foot apartment with exceptional furniture and art! One of his first job was with the elite design firm Parish Hadley. Sister Parish is one of my hero's in the design world because of her innate talent and the fact that she was self taught which is the same way I started my career! Kirill has designed homes from the Italian seaside to the French Riviera. I hope you enjoy this apartment has much as I did! Happy Tuesday everyone!
This Masion Jansen in its original brown velvet is beyond stunning! I love the whimsical Picasso looking pillows and the Lee Jofa draperies are simple beautiful!
The Dining Room cupboard which was inspired by Matisse's cutout looks like a huge piece of art and is the perfect complement for the Lladro chandelier. The wallpaper in the hallway is hand painted by Tyler Hall and it truly sets the tone for the entire area. The custom made commode in the corner is another small work of art and I always love any light fixtures from Vaughan.
This bedroom absolutely sparkles with the mirrored drawers and closets. I love the wallpaper on the ceiling. I often do this either by itself or with a coordinating wallpaper on the walls. The quilted bedspread is something that I am starting to do again after 15 years. It makes such a clean and elegant setting. The study is a jewel box! The combination of the blue walls against the purple sofa is gorgeous! The colors in the rug complement everything in the room and add such whimsy.

Steel Magnolia Tip #62: Start off a conversation with- "Darling your voice is like a breath of fresh air!" See where that takes you-- bet it is pretty far!!!!!!!
Love both of these quotes! They are both so true!
I am sad to say that this was my dinner last night. A few pieces of cheese, a few bits of chicken salad, and some wine. I was snoozing by 8:30. Out of town installs really take it out of me!
Another song that I have rediscovered on my 70's station on Pandora! Poor Michelle has to listen to me singing all day during my install. She doesn't dare tell me that I am off key! Sometimes I even do a little jig! Keeps the ball rolling and the design juices coming!
