Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a silk top from Vince and pleated skirt from Misook with kitten heels from Vince Camuto.
As I talked about in my blog yesterday I was invited to an elegant dinner at the home of the owners George Cameron Nash showroom to celebrate Dedar & Hermes fabric. During dinner I talked with Crans Baldwin about coming to New York to see the Dedar line in the D&D building and also about coming to the fabric show in Paris in January or the fabric show in Milan in April. My January is already full with two short trips so I told him that I would consider Milan in April. He said if I came to the show in Milan that I should stay in Como which is only 35 kilometers outside the city and much more economic and an elegant place to stay and it is actually closer to the fabric show! I have only been to Milan once and spent the night so the thought of Milan in April is quiet intriguing! I saw an article in my Home + Design Departures magazine on a house in Como and thought it would be very fitting to blog about it today. Seeing that I might have the fabulous opportunity to go there in April. I have heard that Como is absolutely dreamy in person! I hope you enjoy this article on the home of Marianne Brandi and Keld Mikkelsen at their home in Lake Como as much as I did. Happy Wednesday everybody its Hump Day!
This Living Room exudes elegance! The silk draperies add such a soft touch to the room. The large rug is quiet and beautiful and I love the blue antique chairs! The room looks like years of collecting art and accessories in very comfortable and timeless.
What a gorgeous pathway and what an incredible view?!
Here is a picture of the the 300 year old mansion on the shore by the lake. What an incredible piece of property!
This is the 5th villa that this couple has renewed life to. How gorgeous?!
A beautiful moment with antique writing desk and chairs and lovely wispy white drapes. What an elegant scene in the Master Bedroom and what an incredible statue! Here is a picture of Keld with his collection of guitars. Obviously a passion of his! One of the guitars in his collection is a Gibson from the 1950's that belonged to someone of importance in the world of music and would be worth about $90,000. Keld thought he wanted to be a musician when he was younger and his father plays jazz. I love the sold shutters in the windows! I have always wanted to do these in a house. I usually only have seen them in houses that are usually over 150 years old.
What a beautiful comfortable moment with the elegant red drapes puddling on the floor and the gorgeous red terra cotta on the floor. The floor is original to the house.
I love the casual elegance of this kitchen and the cabinets going all the way to the ceiling. I have often duplicated cabinets going to the ceiling to display china and other pieces of porcelain throughout the kitchen. This is so elegant! The console and stool in the living room and the piece of art above is so stately! The collection of black and white art displayed tightly together on the wall in the kitchen is such a point of interest.

Love these quotes!
Dinner last night was a turkey burger served with a chopped salad of cabbage and brussel sprouts from Central Market. The salad comes in a package even with the dressing. Easy and breezy!
Another song that I had forgotten about until I heard it on my 70's station. I just love 70's music.
